No, there have already been deaths. Therefore, outbreak according to Crazy's criteria.

That's sad. :( Is that the county where Gallatin TN is located?

Good coverage on that Huntsville stream. Terrible audio though. Looks like something nasty west of Mynot -- strong shear and rotation according to their meteorologist.

That first criteria (50+ tornadoes) is rarely an issue since there are seldom tornado outbreaks involving 50+ weak tornadoes except in tropical storms and hurricanes.

While this severe weather has all been happening...I just realized that the TX panhandle, western Oklahoma and many other areas of the plains have been getting good 25-45mph sustained winds and gusts to 35-60mph (even one 70mph report) over the last two days. There has even been a large swath of blowing dust (similar to the dust bowl?). This system is truely powerful. It is amazing that it can produce tropical storm force winds (at least in gusts..but in some places sustained) for over 2 days!

EDIT: take a look at the loop of this low: http://www.nws.noaa.gov/sat_loop24.php Is it just me or is this thing heading straight for the gulf coast??? If so, then they may need to start increasing our wind speed potential!
