Found it:
The storm is out of New Delhi's ICAO area of responsibility, that's how rare storms are here.

New Delhi's AOR is from 5°N to the coast between 60°E and 100°E. In the final ICAO warning it was noted
PSN: N2230 E05930, 59.5°E, so it's no longer required to issue them.

8-) Thought so. I'm guessing no organisation in this area is set up to issue TC warnings for aviation and they'd just have to do with SIGMETS. Iran is mentioned in the 2005 op manual 0 times by the way.

The eye is looking nice again. I guess those really warm waters are helping it.

Dear Gonu,

Thank you for raising our gas prices a little in the next few days to come, as if they're not high enough. :grr:

Please dissipate before you raise them too high. Like how about right now.

Sincerely,

What is a good site to get satellite images on this storm?

NRL's archive is a good place to start.

http://trmm.gsfc.nasa.gov/trmm_rain/asi ... n_zoom.gif

TRMM estimates about 5-7 inches along the coast (about 1-2 years worth of rainfall for that area).

I notice how everyone is keeping quiet regarding the miracle strengthening Gonu went through earlier today. He pulled a Epsilon. Just within the past hour or two though, convection is thinning out once again but the same happened yesterday afternoon, Monday afternoon, ...basically there are some unexplainable things happening within this tropical cyclone but that isn't surprising since this is the first TC observed by man to trek through those waters.

Those storm surge pics are quite something. There could be some intense damage left behind.

how much did the storm re-strengthen ?

i tried to pull up the link 2 posts above this but it would not load

i heard the the weather channel say there were reports of 60-70 mph winds on southern iran around 2pm today

but really the question is how much damage will there be to the oil platforms and how protected are they from high seas

oil exports will be delayed at least temporarily from that region.

In http://www.tormenta.net , a website in Spanish that I update daily, I mentio the fact that in deserts when it rains more than normal flash flooding are very common. Something very similar is happening in Oman and in Iran.

This picture is probably the most impressive about this storm so far.
There are a lot of people around worried about their families, and this picture is frightful.
At least can we know the place ?
