As for the annularity index...like I said sometimes you just have to throw the models out and look with you own two eyes. The model is wrong on this.

Perhaps for you. I'm not buying it, others are not buying it. Just agree to disagree and stop trying to, in your own words, "persuade" us otherwise.

According to them Bertha is the "earliest Annular Hurricane" to form. What a load of BS.

I reverted it. The anon added it to the bertha article as well.

Maybe the pros should settle the discussion or you can send an e-mail to the NHC.

I'd call it semi-annular. That should be a new term for those not annular but with some resemblence of such.

I like semi-annular or sub-annular.

Look get over it, it's not annular. Please read this.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Annular_hurricane

If you finish with that and still think this is annular, god help you.

It's not fully annular right now but it is becoming annular as far as I can tell. Those rainbands might be gone by tomorrow morning. I hope recon goes into a fully annular Bertha, that would be awesome.

If it does become annular, would it be the weakest annular cane recored?

Epsilon was also a weak hurricane when it became annular.

It's not axisymmetrical. It's not annular.

Matter of fact, it's rather elliptical; major axis is W-E.

To be rather honest, I don't see this coming close to annular status.

Next.

Does this mean we can't expect a Bertha next year?

Well if this is so cut and dry as not being annular to you guys then let's see how it manages to undergo another ewrc. Can someone show me the outer rainbands that are capable of contracting and forcing another ewrc? Not too many rainbands to choose from are there?

In three hours Bertha has gone 0.1ºN and 0.1ºW. Slow Bertha.
