Is this better for DFW area? Sorry. I try to learn and follow along but, not sure what all the different scenarios mean. Thanks in advance!

I think this is a good reminder that the NAM model has a bad undermixing bias

This is a 3 hour difference, in one run in Central Oklahoma

Winter 2020-2021 :cold:

All observations are in Tecumseh, OK unless otherwise noted.

Winter posts are focused mainly for Oklahoma & Texas.

Take any of my forecasts with a grain of salt, refer to the NWS, SPC, and NHC for official information

Although the initial wave is largely unchanged in the 18z nam, the reinforcing shot of cold air on Saturday is way faster. I do still think it is too delayed on dragging down the freezing line for the first wave, but this is a step in the right direction if we want to see more sleet/snow in ntx. I know I do.

They can always wrap themselves up to keep warm. Or burn it in the fireplace. :D

Well the NAM just went somewhat colder in my area earlier maybe by 3-5 degrees… I believe now is the time we start to see models drop quicker and earlier…

The NAM now shows the freezing line reaching WF around 4 pm Friday. The precip shield is massive.

There is a notable trend of faster and colder between the 12z and 18z runs for your area of Texas, and basically overall.

NAM definitely playing catch up in terms of advancing colder air faster/deeper into Texas. I expect those trends to continue leading to more ice further south into central and portions of SC TX

Really is looking like (at least in the hill country) that the initial wave of precip will be mostly a cold rain, which will have people thinking the forecast was a bust, and then that second precip shield comes in and hammers everyone.

Wait, you get a text? I have an app that allows me to see it tested. You must have the high fallutun generator

Sometimes someone knocks on my door to tell me it's running and there are no issues. You don't have that?

We have a visit once a year. Lol. Other than that, nope.
