NWS Miami discussion snippet:
The signs of the summer pattern are already starting when you read this. In a couple of months just substitute the rain chance to about 40% to 60% and leave the wording, it will apply.
THIS WILL KEEP THE SOUTHEAST WIND
FLOW GOING OVER THE CWA TODAY INTO SUNDAY...AND ALLOW FOR THE EAST
AND WEST COAST SEA BREEZES TO DEVELOP BOTH AFTERNOONS. SO HAVE
ADDED A 10 PERCENT CHANCE OF SHOWERS FOR THE EAST AND WEST COAST
METRO AREAS FOR TODAY AND AGAIN ON SUNDAY...WITH A 10 PERCENT
CHANCE OF SHOWERS FOR THE EAST COAST AREAS TONIGHT

Re: Florida Weather Thread: Dry weather pattern continues
Unfortunately, significant drought conditions are steadily expanding into central Florida and the Kissimmee watershed. The proliferation of higher KBDI indices in these regions is significant for south Florida's water supply, since the Kissimmee River nourishes Lake Okeechobee and the Everglades region. Infiltration from the Kissimmee watershed also feeds Lake Okeechobee. Therefore, precipitation trends over the central Florida lake region are critical for southern Florida. We are observing the initial effects of the expanding drought, since the water levels in several wells are decreasing along the southeast and southwest coasts of the state. The low wells in the Everglades region are disconcerting for the populated east and west coasts of the peninsula.
Latest KBDI data reveal that values of 700+ have extended into Miami-Dade County. Additionally, Collier County, exhibiting a value of 697, is rapidly approaching the 700+ threshold.

These conditions are unbearable. If you resided in the Southwest for an extended period, you would disagree with anyone who abhors rain. I'm not satisfied when the higher temperatures and Tds (temperature dewpoints) arrive in south Florida.

Knowing La Nina- I don't think we'll see decent rain until late June, that's what happened in 1998
At least a well-defined southerly breeze makes it "feel" marine on the canal...still 76*F...
definitely keeps the air temperature from heating up too much...
