It (the first system, the northern one) certainly looks subtropical to me in the latest radar & sat images -

I have certainly seen worse looking named systems.

On an interesting side note I saw the North American radar on your site, and given the Gulf radar coverage from US, Cuba, and Mexico, it would really only take 2-3 well-positioned radars in the Gulf (probably on oil rigs) to give >95% coverage of the entire gulf.

Interesting that a disturbance formed right in the same spot as the ULL swirl off Miami.

I think that storm from August 27-29 (peaking around 29/0000Z) needs to be reanalyzed.
