Frisky...

#42 Postby azskyman » Tue Mar 25, 2003 9:40 pm

It only occurs in springtime when our time spent moves from the Pot Belly Stove to this wonderful outoor porch.

So excited they are that Crouton the pot bellied pig and Slowpoke the armadillo go through some "frisky" springtime dances that are unlike anything you've ever witnessed on either the Discovery Channel or National Geographic.

But hey, it's been a long winter and they have all those Krispy Kreme pounds to burn off! So just as the return of the robins and punching through the snow of the crocus are signs of better days ahead, so to are their front porch antics!

Welcome to springtime in the White Mountains!

Yes indeed, it IS spring time in the Whites, pussy willows in full bloom, Bradford Flowering Pears in full bloom, tulips JUST about to pop, still cool enough at night for a *small* fire in the true pot belly!

Welcome to the porch Jetmaxx! This is a GREAT place to sit and shoot the breeze!

Funny you should mention smells and spring, isn't it amazing how certain smells stirs images in our minds from our childhood, a special moment, that first kiss??? Everytime I smell fresh cut grass, it sends me WAY back to my childhood, rolling down the front lawn in Whiteriver, Az. My father worked for B.I.A on the White Mountain Apache Reservation, we lived inside the government compound, the house was on a hill with ONE HECK of a hill in the front lawn, dad would mow it and ALL the neighborhood kids would come over and we'd all roll down the hill, AH YES....the memories!

Isobar, I'm about 65 miles south of Nashville - darn! Wish we
could have met up for dinner! Nashville has a good airport -
you should have no problems, there!

Dennis - I want to stress, again, that all of that
"shootin' the breeze" hurts!

It's nitey-nite time for me....the windchimes are chiming
softly, playing a tune....I can smell the hyacinths sweet
scent. The curtain sheers are blowing softly with the
breeze...sweet dreams to my Wxbuddies!

Hmmm...the front porch, huh? Yeah, I haven't needed the PBS in quite some time. Spring is very short here...summer gets her mighty quickly, and then are we going to sit around the air conditioner???

Yes ticka, the pollen is in full force. I went to get in my van last week and it was COVERED in pollen. We couldn't even touch the door handles without having to clean our hands. Luckily, it rained that day and it all came off. Otherwise, I would have been heading to the car wash!

I woke up with a sore throat today and aching all over. I took my temperature it was 100.5...not enough to put me to bed, but just enough to make me feel like crapola!

I hope everyone else is feeling better. I just checked radar....I've got storms heading my way! :o

Well, see ya'll on the porch later.

I see mostly everyone has found their way to the porch. Welcome jet maxx and constructionwx to the front porch...tis the time for thunderstorms and the porch is a good place to watch the progress of thunderboomers.

UW-Green Bay's stellar senior class of Boyer, Dudley, Johnson and Loiselle finished as one of the winningest classes in program history, as the four-year members combined for a 95-29 record, four Horizon League regular season titles, three NCAA tournament appearances and the first NCAA tournament victory in the team's 30-year history. Now you wonder why we are the Lady Phoenix Basketball team on a mission!

From ESPN:
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncw/recap?gameId=234000034

"We were in the game. Regardless of what happened we were in the game,'' Phoenix coach Kevin Borseth said. "We were very, very close to shocking them."

The Phoenix, who earned an automatic NCAA bid by claiming the Horizon League tournament championship, earned their first victory in five tournament appearances with the win over the Huskies. The school's first NCAA win was a goal Borseth set for the Phoenix this season. Anything else, he said earlier, was "icing on the cake.''

"They made a believer out of me,'' LSU Coach Sue Gunter said. "Kevin just does a great job with them. They're very disciplined and they're so hard to get out of their system.''

Getting a little breezy on the porch! Oh wait, that's the storms moving in here in Houston. Heads up Ticka and SG!! Marble sized hail too! Thank goodness the hail only lasted about a minute!!! Now the rain and wind, currently gusting to 34 mph. Worst is still to the west of us according to radar! :o  :o

Cute!! I just looked at radar and there is a second line of storms rapidly developing 20 miles behind the ones going through now!! This is not fair! I hope they get through here before they get bad!!! Temp has dropped 10º to 62ºf in the last few minutes too. I hope this is all my excitement for the night!

BTW, did anyone get the animals in before the storms hit?

Yikes David...

The storms seem to be increasing as they get closer to me. As long as my electricity stays on, I'll be happy. I hate it when we lose power!

Wonderful! The glad to be out on the "Front Porch" during the warmer months of the year. Looking forward to great times here with all of you.

It has been cooler than it was last week in central Florida. The heat and humidity isn't too far off, along with the daily afternoon showers and thunderstorms across the interior portion of the state with the seabreeze collisions.

Morning everyone. Looks like a great day here in the Ozarks! The sun is out and although it is only 34º now, we should hit 65 or so later today.

Looks like storms for us tomorrow.

Wow Houma - I love to sit on the front porch and watch the storms. Can we say storms - well they blew threw last night around 1 am and lasted till after 2 a.m. - made the electricity go off and of course that then lead us to oversleeping this morning - so its going to be one of them days.

Other than that - its HUMP day and I'm so ready for the weekend.

how did everyone hold up in the thunderstorms? That looked like a pretty potent line!

As for us, its 34* in Titletown (aka Green Bay) and ITS SNOWING! Dead serious! My roommate was like....um, its snowing out...and by golly, it is! Flurries expected all throughout the day.

This is the NWS Green Bay radar... http://www.crh.noaa.gov/radar/latest/DS ... kgrb.shtml
