I love this place! Look up at the lurk-o-meter and you'll probably see my name!

Some ideas:
~What about a map that shows where everyone is from?

~Different forums for each named storm? It gets difficult to navigate through threads about the rainstorm in Jamaica, the blob in the Atlantic, the front in Utah. When it's crunch time, and you have interest in only one particular storm, you could just go to that storm forum to get information. Keep each storm forum available throughout the season so posters can update data, photos, etc...Archive and close them at the end of the year calendar year?

Just some thoughts...

I love this idea. I've been a member for a couple of years and I still don't understand alot of what the "pros" on here talk about. Sometimes I just feel dumb asking questions, especially if it's been explained before and I just didn't get it the first time around.

I'll second the love for this idea. It would be wonderful. Probably quite a bit of work, but it'd be very very good.

I like a few of the ideas I've read so far:
-A dictionary/list of terms
-A general FAQ
-Weekly training topics
-Map showing locations of active posters

I would like to see a history link to retired storms where people could post their experiences or photos taken during/after the storm. That might be cool.

Printable tracking maps would be especially nice for those of us who do not live in areas where we can get them from our local Walgreens, etc.

I also like the idea of posting the model maps... (spaghetti lines)

Excellent printable tracking maps can be found here:

The GOM is the best one out there IMO

A dictionary/glossary would help so much!

Great idea.

I love this idea. I have been trying to teach myself. But some of it is so confusing.

how about haveing forums with in talkin tropics that go to a particulat hurricane like franklin for example if some one had a question that they wanted to get noticed they would go into the "franklin" forum and post there question as a thread and it would go on from there

here is what i mean

MM-----|----forums----|--M.Forums--|-- Threads--|-------Q&A------
forums>
---------tropical analasis
---------talking tropics>
----------------------------Emily
----------------------------Frenklin>
-------------------------------------What will frenklin do next?
-------------------------------------Will it loop again?>
-----------------------------------------------------------hurricane25254:
--------------------------------------------------------------nah it won't
-----------------------------------------------------------Herocanei9494:
--------------------------------------------------------------I think it will

MM=main munu/ M.forums= more forums

do you know what i mean by all that????

this is what it is now

MM ----|-------forums----|-------threads---------|----Q&A------
Forums>
-----------Tropical analysis
-----------Talking tropics>
-------------------------------Will Franklin loop again?>
-------------------------------obituary-emily
-------------------------------------------------------Huricane25254:
----------------------------------------------------------nah it won't
-------------------------------------------------------herocanei9494:
