Well, truth be known, if I were ever to erect a man-made structure THAT CLOSE to the water's edge, I believe I'd have to be expecting that kind of damage... And, unfortunately, because some (many) folks choose to do so, my insurance premiums surely aren't "declining..."

especially when that home on the beach is a MOBILE HOME, even though it is on stilts, it can't hold up.
I have nothing against mobile homes at all, i live in one in Ft Lauderdale that I just bought June 30, but I am also at least 15 miles from the ocean, and 4 blocks from the nearest canal.

I think our big August storm "Fabian, Charley, ect" will be "Jose or Katrina" with our big September storm "Isabel, Ivan, ect" being "Nate or Ophelia." If we have a big late season storm "Lenny, Michelle" I see that being "Stan or Tammy."

Unfortunately, Floydbuster nailed it with the big August storm. And unfortunately, the title of this thread is answered now with a big "YES".

Amazing that Wilma was our late season big storm even though it was mid October.

I just hope this season used up a bit of the oceanic heat content, so next year won't be as severe.
