If that ULL would move out of its way, I'd say watch for some pretty quick intensification, but for right now.....rather slow. All could change in the next 24 hours though!

I also initially thought it was losing some steam earlier tonight, but as others on here have said, the convection appears to be over the center as opposed to being more spread out earlier.

It will be very interesting to watch where it goes under erratic steering patterns for the next day until the ridge gets more established.

The ULL will be a nonfactor for TD12 in 24 hours. By the satellite loops it appears to be overpowering the ULL.

Tropical storm will form by 5am and a hurricane watch will be issued for the SE FL coast by no later than 11pm Wed.....

I expect hurricane watches to be issues for parts of the FL Keys and the E coast of FL later today....

I agree boca_chris. This thing looks to really really want to strenghten. The weird thing is that the NHC has it at 26.1N 80.0W at landfall in South Florida. That is just 5-10 miles from my house!
