I'm curious what is your view. I'm not saying it WON'T develop... that's not my point. I'm saying since it's not a tropical storm at this time (even if you think it is... OFFICIALLY it is NOT), we should call it by it's official name.

I'm pretty impressed with it on the satellite pics. I like its chances if it can stay in a faverable enviroment.

it is celarly a TD based upon sat images

Also, is there an RMS for the South Atlantic? Personally, I believe NHC should have the responsibility due to the infrequency of development, just consider it part of the Atlantic

there is no offical Rms down there so who can declare it offical a cyclone? I agree the nhc should be given the responsibilty.

No, Derek. There is no AOR that covers the SAtl. I do agree, though... the NHC should step up to the plate. Normally, they run guidance and provide it to affected nations, but since this looks to be heading out to sea...

Brazil Navy has been issuing some data for it, however...

I'm sure one will be accepted for it from somewhere, just like Catarina.

Probably not. It's not forecast to make landfall. Therefore, it will probably go unnamed.

I reckon we should name it "Tropical Storm 2000" so we can say "TS2K"

Derek... if you're reading this... are you going to perform any guidance on this system or are you taking a well-deserved break too?
