At some time or another I think we have all done this and don't even mean to do it. It is just part of life. Now may I say run along little one and don't mess up my summer. I want a hurricane free summer!

I'm very strongly wishing for ZERO named storms in 2006. Wouldn't that be great? Time for everyone to recover from 2004-2005. Let's all wish that we have nothing to talk about for the next 6 months but boring dry air, strong wind shear, and no invests at all.

no storms... there's a wishcast I hope comes true

Miami still has many blue tarp districts. This region cannot withstand a strong TS, much less a major hurricane

When I was a kid in south Louisiana back in the 1960s, I used to wish that every tropical storm/hurricane would head right for me so that I could experience it. While it is still exciting to experience a little wind and rain (nothing damaging), I have far too many responsibilities to wish a hurricane on any location. You youngsters here will eventually change your attitudes toward development as you grow up and acquire responsibilities. Eventually, you'll be with me and pull for "NO STORMS IN 2006!" We can only hope...

This is a hurricane-enthusiast board. I would be extremely disappointed if there were less than 3 majors this year.

wow... i agree with this being a little bit of an overreaction. one saying 'bring it on', is just about the same as saying 'im prepared for hurricane season', thats all. the question isnt wether a storm is going to hit, but rather when, where, and how strong. as already said, mother nature isnt listening to our wishes, and having high spirits about preparedness and expectation is better than being gloomy or angry about it. light -removed- shouldnt be a problem, in fact... isnt our little 'guess the storm numbers' poll in the same ballpark?

its harmless, really, for the most part. however, i think we'd all agree that 'bad' wishing is stepping over the line (i.e. 'i hope a big cat5 takes out the rest of NOLA').

ah, but if this is natures way of balancing itself, would that make for a VERY active 2007? ;)

As long as your possessions are in a secure place then they should be fine.

Give people I disagree with what they want. Katrina or Wilma type storms. :D

(KIDDING, don't kill me!)

Seriously, going through a serious 'cane rather does away with the desire to ever see a hurricane again.

Ya know I have thought this thread over after reading and I have decided that it is better to get all the arguing about wishc asting over with now. So I suppose it is good for everyone to say thier peace. But, I will say one thing. There are a few people on here who are overly sensitive and a few who are not sympathetic at all... Either way I have not seen people -removed- and there is no necessary warnings and bannings that need to be given even if there are some cases. If you see someone who is wishc asting PM a Moderator and I'm sure they would be happy to send that member a Private Message warning them.
