This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Weak start. Tell that too the people Alberto killed; both as a TC over land, and as part of a bombo extratropical storm (which had a 32 mb drop in less than 24 hr, when only 24 mb is needed, I might add) over the North Atlantic

Yep it's been pretty weak this year so far. We had more going on in 1981 also - we already had TWO storms by June 30th. Not this year. In addition, last year we reached Emily by mid July. I can assure you, that will not happen this year. Very doubtful.
Total number of storms should be about half of last year.

This season is active just because of one weak system ? Are U all kidding me ?? Give me a break !
I didn't see any "Agnes" or "Audrey" type storms this June.........

It was NOT very active this June, plus most of those so called "invests" failed to develop..........

I'm not assured. If only that shear wasn't around, all hell could break loose. Maybe some dry air in the Caribbean but the GOM has a healthy amount of moist air right now.

If Audrey happened again this year, who crazy would that be? That was a super rare event. The season is active for different reasons other then storms forming. Sounds funny but it's the tropics.

I don't think any June is really that active. Audrey was a fluke and Agnes.

Season Canceled. Only one weak TS has formed. Since there was only one tropical cyclone in the Atlantic in June I have issued a season canceled J\k. We are only in the first day of JULY PEOPLE. What did you expect? 5 or 6 named storms in June? Just because it probably wont be as bad as last year dose not mean it is going to be inactive. All signs are leading to a very active year. 2004 didn't have a named storm till late July. We had some very powerful storms that years, such as Ivan and Charley.

The season is active in different terms. June isn't that active in the sense of named storms but as I said in my other post there are different reasons for the season being active. Maybe I should have said this season will be active instead. It's confusing.
