I know, been there done that. In my case it was alcohol. In November I will have been sober 30 years.

30 years is very impressive. Addiction is a constant battle.

I also gave up smoking in 1985. You're right, that's why it's one day at a time. One never stops wanting that drink or smoke-it takes will power and memories of what things were like before and spirituality (not necessarily combined with any specific religion) to get through.
