I beg to differ on the pricing issue. I purchase through Dell for my corporation and what you're saying about the price just isn't true. Model for model the Vista equipped machine is more.

Actually, I got my new laptop for college back at the end of May, end Dell decided to charge me an extra $150 for getting XP . . . that policy may have changed, but it was a touch frustrating.

The only reason that would be was if you picked a laptop that was not setup to be offered with XP. In other words a custom build. The added cost was for the customization, not for XP.

Am I the only one that have Windows Vista? I have an HP with Windows Vista on it.

I just purchased a Gateway Laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium. I got the extra 1 Gig to put in it, I haven't played with it much yet, the hubby has. I don't know yet, with what little I did with it it seemd ok, but I need to work with it a lot more.
