Adam and Kris safe, Anoop in the bottom three(DialIdol fails)

*thwaps Flo Rida* Now I have that perverted song stuck in my head! :P

Danny and Matt safe, Scott in the bottom three

Allison safe, Lil in the bottom three.

Tough one, Anoop or Scott probably. Lil safe. I think Scott is going.

Scott lowest votes and I don't see him being saved. WOW... Scott was good but he's not good enough IMO for the only save. Judges are split(LOL). Scott gone after all those dramatics

This is my first season watching the show so I must say that I am thoroughly hooked, but I do get tired of the dramatics involved with the saving. You know that there are only two or three people that the judges as a whole want to save, so why all the dramatics?

By the way... my favorite is Alison. Some weeks I like Adam and then other weeks he just creeps me out!

This is the first season that they are are using the "save". They probably should've had at a few seasons earlier, but it helps to prevent the loss of someone that really is talented way too early in the competition. Although this only is available until the Top 5, there have been other contestants in the past that probably should've gone on longer or won. Jennifer Hudson is a prime example - I think she finished in 8th place. I forget which season that one was - 6 or 7 maybe. Chris Dougherty and Tamyra Grey, on the other hand, were a part of the Top 5 when they were voted off. Then again, just the exposure alone on American Idol has created fantastic opportunities for the non-winners. I think a lot of them were better off not signing with 19E/RCA afterwards (or would've been).

It was Season 3. Time flies, huh?
I didn't watch it then, so I had to look it up. I started watching in Season 6 and I knew she wasn't on when I watched. As to the save, I do agree that it could be handy. I think they would have used it on Michael Johns last year, who left in 8th place and everyone was shocked. They even showed a pic of him on AI when explaining the reasoning for the save. However, I think it would be better if they didn't make a big production about whether to save or not each week, giving the contestant false hope. If they want to save someone, they can interrupt and say so during the good-byes or something and there's no need to have all the dramatics each week if they're not going to use it anyway. JMO.

And oh how I love Michael Johns. He's got an album coming out soon and the new single, Heart on My Sleeve, will be released on April 14th! Image

WOW! Season 3? I forgot that she was in the "Fantasia" Season.

I can't remember Michael Johns - I didn't watch very much of it last year.

I really don't like all of the drama around the "save" feature either. It's bad enough when a contestant gets voted off, but making them "sing for their supper" after this to see if they will be saved or not kind of strips them of whatever dignity they have left. I liked how they would just let them leave the Season with a swan song and their heads held high. In a way, I think that they judges should already have an idea of who they would want to save if the need ever arose.

I see that I am not the only one who doesn't like the drama associated with it. Yeah, I like the idea of them getting to choose a song to sing at the end of their run... not the same one they already sang. Maybe that would make a difference?

Everyone keeps telling me to, but I honestly don't know think I know enough "pop" songs to make it. Plus, my range isn't that big and I sound a little twangy when I sing. :101:

You will never know unless you try. What is wrong with twangy. So what if you're "twangy"? I think there are a few AI veterans that have made it big with some twang in their voices. Do I need to name them?

LOL, I see the Idol producers weren't happy about last week's overrun either, so now only 2 judges talk at a time? You know if they cut out this pointless filler they wouldn't have to do that(spending over 5 minutes on intros, who cares!).

and 4 judges is too many. 3 was fine...

Allison-I loved it, don't think I've ever heard a girl sing that song and it was really good. Loved Simon's comment, so true.

Anoop-Pretty good

Adam-WOW, WOW, WOW! That was absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!!! One of the best performances I've ever seen.

Matt-Missed most of it due to a phone call from computer repair, doesn't sound like it was too good though.

Danny-Meh. Nothing special.

Kris-Zzzzzzzzzzz

What happened tonight? It started so well

Lil-Zzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Songs of the cinema:

Allison Iraheta - “Don’t Want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith
Anoop Desai - “Everything I Do” by Bryan Adams
Adam Lambert - “Born to be Wild” by Steppenwolf
Matt Giraud - “To Really Love a Woman” by Bryan Adams
Danny Gokey - “Endless Love” by Diana Ross
Kris Allen - “Falling Slowly”
Lil Rounds - “The Rose” by Bette Midler

#1 Allison - not really a good song choice. . .there were some good parts ... i liked the beginning and towards the end was good. . . middle sucked badly . . .

*yawns* commercial *goes to hunt down Brent and CM and drag them to chat*

#2 Anoop - pretty good; I expected to hate it b/c of the rumors of his performance in rehearsals

#3 Adam - why is he here? seriously he doesn't need this show. . . he has the talent; I agree with Simon, this was not my favorite performance.. . . Additional note: commentary from my sister "I am kinda getting bored with Adam"

#4 Matt - another Bryan Adams song . . . ugh, channeling Justin Timberlake again. .. . :wall:

#5 Danny -- meh. . . not impressed

#6 Kris - understated and lovely; not his best performance, but it was good...

*thwaps BRENT* --wakeup . . .your bot girlfriend is in chat

#7 Lil - interesting twist on the song; it was ok . . the transition was awkward from the beginning into the gospel portion

Lil, Matt, Anoop

Hmmm... I like the song choices.

Did Allison sound like she had laryngitis? She does have a husky voice but it sounded even more rough tonight. Not bad, not great either. I was really waiting for her to belt it out too, but she only did towards the end.

"The Rose" is one of my favorite songs. I'm looking forward to see Adam's interpretation of "Born to Be Wild".

Anoop - VERY nice! Perfect choice for him.

Adam - yeah, he's got to show more enthusiasm. Perfect song choice for him. I like what Quentin said, that he looks forward to what Adam is going to do with a song on the stage.

Matt - I agree with Randy, he started off really well but when he went into the high note, he missed.

Danny - I didn't know how this song would sound with a male singing it, but he did it very nicely. I did think that he really brought it all together at the end.

Kris - I never heard the song, I didn't really get into it.

Now they're rushing the judges again - did we really need to see Ryan swinging around in Randy's seat imitating him especially if there's a time crunch? There's now 7 minutes left and Lil still has to go. Dumb!!!

Lil - um, no. With a better voice, someone else could've done better with the gospel version. She really doesn't have a strong voice or she did at one time and left it behind.

I don't get this... they even had HALF the judges comments as last week and STILL run over. Ryan needs to stop wasting time with silly nonsense. They've never run over like this before this season.

9:04, insane. Essentially the same as last week(taking out the 4-5 minutes with one less performance)

They've always had silly nonsense before, but the shows were longer when they had this many contestants left. I don't get it either.

Yep, Ryan was the problem tonight!!

Allison-not her best, but still one of the top. Simon is right-she is the women's only hope.
Anoop-Wow!!! Too bad he hasn't been doing that well everytime. One of his best performances.
Adam-Somewhat indulgent, perfect song for him. Still number one.
Matt-OUCH!!! He may be in trouble.
Danny-Meh-not good, not bad, like Simon said he needed more creativity.
Kris-I think he did well tonight.
Lil-She has lost whatever she had. Buh bye!

Adam, Allison, Anoop, Kris, Danny in order.

buh bye? Lil, Matt in order unless Lil has a following of callers built up, which I think may be the case.

Bottom line-cut the crap Ryan, it isn't about you!!

Allison and Adam safe, Anoop bottom three(AGAIN!)

Kris safe, Lil bottom three(thank God!, please go home)

Danny safe, Matt bottom three(again!)

Tough one, I have a preference but not sure who's going.
