Currently clear, 42 degrees, and falling like a rock in Covington. I hope to tell you that is cold for this early in the evening in April! If by some miracle it can stay clear for most of the night, we could easily see lows below freezing. If this were to be an entirely clear night, I expect we would see many record lows.

You are correct about the long range, Andy. With any bit of luck at all we could see some really exciting weather!

As for putting the date on the pictures, I will try to set that up tommorow. I took the camera outside a few minutes ago and found just as Randy said, everything is black, and the stars are just to dim to show up.

Anyways, we currently have 40 F (and falling fast) with clear skies. Last night we got down to 36 F with some clouds around the area, so tonight should be even colder if it stays clear.

Great sunset pics Andy. It's too bad I don't have a view from my house that isn't obstructed by trees or other buildings around the area when the sunsets. Maybe I will take a drive out to Ravensdale one of these evenings and attempt to capture to perfect sunset.

Tomorrow may be an alright day, as the the new run of the 00z NAM showing the system stalling out on the coast between 12z and 18z tomorrow morning. However, we may have some post-frontal sprinkels durng early pre-dawn hours with the actuall system not coming into Western WA sometime on Thursday....or at least on too the WA coast at the farthest. Front does finally come through here by late Thursday into Friday to give us steady rains and then showers afterwards.

Mt. St. Helens seems to be picking up in the strength of it's earthquakes. Yesterday it had a 3.0 and a 3.4, then today it had a 3.3 and a 3.2. Maybe there will be a large steam/ash eruption again in the near future.

Well...So much for the front stalling offshore. The latest radar shows moderate rain has made it to Olympia and is rapidly moving to the NE! This could be a VERY cool day if the rain can set in and continue. We have a fairly cold airmass already in place and low enough dew points for some wet bulb effect cooling. We may be lucky to get out of the 40s today. The beat rolls on!

A cloudy morning here folks, and no rain as of yet. Current temp is 48 with humidity 57%, DP 34 and baro steady at 30.00.

Viewing this mornings latests GFS....it appears that our cool and showery pattern continues right through rest of this week and into next week. However, by around the 15th...the GFS, MRF and GEM models want to develope a rather deep trough over WA and OR, but 500MB heights are only near 534DM with 850MB temp of -3C. So this trough may not be all that cold when it arives, but should give some pretty interesting weather in the form of isolated T-Storm showers, ice pellet showers and lots more snow to the already building snow pack. BUT it`s way to early yet to say that this may happen, so in turn, lets just see what the next few days worth weather brings us.

Quite as range of temperatures today. The areas that are getting rain, south and west of Seattle are only in the mid 40s, while areas not getting rain are in the mid and even upper 50s. With low dew points over the area, I would not be surprised to see some places have sharp temp drops as the rain spreads eastward.

Absolutely no question, that once this front moves through tomorrow night, our temps will be below normal as far as the eye can see! The GFS is increasingly jumping on the idea of us going into a cool NW flow after day 10. It could be weeks before we see any serious above normal temperature regime!

Hey...where is everyone today?!:)8-) So far, the majorty of the rain is directly to the West of me and NW up in Vacouver BC. Cuurent temp is 61 with partly cloudy skies and humidity 39%. DP is 36 and baro 29.91 and slowly falling. Just a tad breezy at times. -- Andy

Been a breezy cloudy but dry day up here so far today. Current temp is 54.1 degrees at 2:30PM. Was a great day for working outside, not too cold, not too warm, dry, with a breeze

Hey guess what folks. Think I just saw a bobcat in our yard just a little bit ago. I do know that it wasn`t your typical indoor/outdoor house cat! Too big. And I could also see that it was very spotted on it legs as I saw walk across the upper part of yard with it`s catch of food. Never seen one up here in the wild, we did though have a resident cougar at the golf course last winter ('03-'04)

Great picture of the bobcat or whatever it was. It has been rumored for many years that up at our cabin on Mt. Hood, Oregon there is a bobcat. Some people have even seen it rumaging through knocked over garbage cans and such.

Hey guys...

Just in case anyone is wondering... I am tied up all week with meetings in Spokane.

Pretty nice day here in Eastern WA... cloudy and cool this morning and now sunny and actually warm (around 60 degrees).

Just reading some posts... I see Snow_Wizzard is still rooting for plain old cold weather regardless of precipitation. I saw a prediction from him of highs in the 40's today and then read a post from Andy with 64 degrees this afternoon!!! I think someone is forgetting it is April.

I just want snow in the mountains. And some rain/thunderstorms in the lowlands. Cold and dry is EXTREMELY boring and I do not buy this theory that it leads to cold winters. The atmosphere is just not that predictable in the long term. I can find cool weather in April that ultimately lead to a cold winter and cool weather in April that ultimately lead to a warm winter. I think you might be only looking at the "good" cases.

Bottom line... we are balancing out the sunny dry weather from mid-January through mid-March. Nothing more. Statistically this is not that unusual.

What I do know.... is that our active weather should continue for awhile.

There is almost no way to predict the weather for next winter with any certainity at all.

Lets focus on erasing this drought completely. And then bring on summer!!
