So instead of windshield-wipering on track, the models are seesawing on intensity. Surprise surprise...

HMON and it's hurricane brethren were birthed with intensity in mind above track.

So HMON goes from a wave/TD to a major hurricane north of Turks and Caicos heading WNW in one run.

HWRF goes north as well of the islands and turns into a major approaching SE Bahamas heading WNW

Go figure

Whew...HWRF from hour 102 to hour 114 goes from 985 and 54 knots to 966mb and 83 knots. That’s a pretty good increase in 12 hours, all North of Hispaniola.

We need an actual center and storm to form before we look too much at the hurricane models. We saw this same story of over-intensifying Isaias in its early stages.

I think that may be the strongest run I’ve seen of any model in the Atlantic so far this year.

HWRF bombs 98L north of the islands? Wow, who didn’t see this one coming.

Almost like no land interaction occurred here.
