All roads are completely covered and it's still coming.....

If this was not supposed to be the main show how much are we supposed to get?

This is what I'm wondering too. Supposedly the main snow show was going to be this evening and overnight. I wonder if that has changed, or if we're seeing an over perform of the precipitation now, with that show still expected tonight.

It's mostly been because temps are not 33-34 but 30-31 especially north of I-20/I-30. It's sleet when things lighten up but snow when heavy qpf comes through. Another big batch is coming into the metroplex. N/NW areas have seen good radar returns all morning.

Yeah looks like area from Denton to Mckinney region points NE are going to be the big winners based on where that snow band is setting up. I-30 but just north been cashing in.

30.7 with a dp of 29.1 just to the NW of DFW. Seem to be right on the dividing line, with mostly snow.

For you folks in the Metroplex, I wouldn't expect surface temps to drop much further. The dew point trend to your south is rising dewpoints and the adiabatic cooling precipitation process up there is probably at its peak cooling.

Looks like a pretty intense band moving through N. Ft Worth and Southern Denton County.

Seems to track - over the last half hour we've transitioned from heavy snow back to cold rain in Dallas County.

This was weird. Almost had chunks of ice falling from the sky it seemed. Not typical sleet.

I measured about 1.75 to 2 inches of snow/sleet depending on location.

Quite the impressive start.

Now I just hope it doesn't warm too much for the evening batch. With dews rising, it's going to be a tough call. I would feel better in Collin county, but doing well here so far in northwest Tarrant.

Winter Storm Warning bust looking likely for Gregg County. I'd expect the warning to be dropped to a WWA soon. 35.1F/29.5F temp/dp spread, with the dewpoint slowly rising. Don't see the temp dropping enough to make it happen here. Cold rain with occasional sleet.

May not ever meet WWA criteria here either.

Temp up to 32, but should drop once the next heavier batch coming from the SW arrives in 15-30 minutes.
