The guidance models indicate good consensus until Dean reaches Grand Cayman. Beyond that, it seems that the bets may very well be off. In any case, some of the models (or at least GFDL) are indicating considerable weakness in the monster ridge. I expect the track to continue meandering around a bit.

The 11 AM pressure was an estimate.

I would think we all need to chill a bit until they run the models with data from today's recon.

Amazing, it has improved dramatically just from a few hours ago. A true monster in the making... water only gets warmer and deeper from here.

Where can I get animated maps of the 12z models of the GFDL and HWRF? I can't find the link I used to have. Thanks in advance!

Yes,lets take a break from the 12z runs and focus tonight on the 00z guidance that will have the data ingested from the gulfstream jet.

Aric, Does the NHC archive it's satellite images anywhere for download? I would like to make some full lifecycle loops and have been downloading them as they are posted, but have of course missed a few.

GFDL is here. Has the "WRF" but not updated past 6z.

I know I may be over-sensitive here...but adjectives like "great" "improving" and "awesome" are a little hard for those of us in the islands to stomach at the moment, regardless of the power and intensity and perfection of a storm moving into a high mode. Can the thrill of watching this be couched in a bit more thoughtful terms? And we will do the same for CONUS when it applies (though, I can't think of any of the island posters who use these terms, for obvious, or maybe not so obvious reasons).

I don't think they will change much...previous storms have proven that..

Sometimes we weather junkies tend to get a bit too excited when a storm really blows up. All my thoughts and prayers to you and the others in the islands, stay safe!
