Ha. The ball is rolling. The wheels are in motion. :)

I think you mean, the ball is teed up and Porta Brown is ready to start running. :cheesy:

Better happen this time around before Roger Goodell gets rid of the extra point. Portastorm will have to find something else to kick... Perhaps his neighbors cat? 8-)

Interesting set up. In a small way, it kind of reminds me of our Christmas snow miracle of 2004. Slowly things fell into place for what some weather forecasters thought was going to be a small sleet and ice even mainly to the north of us and a trace here in the immediate Corpus area. Then bang, I got seven inches of snow in my yard and Victoria got up to a foot. Not saying this will happen this time around, but the uncertainty is certainly there with our on the air Mets.

And it seems like the Mets are ignoring next weeks cold....

Can someone post a image of the nam? Is it showing a fair amount of ice north of the Houston area?

Don't count on it. The column is really dry.

ok here in schertz san antonio area, have been down graded from winter storm watch to winter weather advisory. guess that means nothing of great significance will happen here after all. boo :( Guess Wxman57 has made it home to turn off the water works and shut the refrigerator door.

Ye of little faith. It's not really a downgrade when going from Winter Storm Watch to Winter Weather Advisory as the Watch meant winter weather is possible & the Advisory means it's imminent. It's just that the accumulations will likely not meet any Warning criteria, which is not a bad thing for your area as meeting such criteria possibly would've been met due to freezing rain, not snow.

If you have not checked out the -EPO forecast you should take a look. It is phenomenal, off the charts and stays way down low. We're going to see a barrage of big highs (as if we haven't already) nothing I can find really compares.

I don't know about winter weather events but the -PNA does support digging shortwaves. My comment was towards the EPO sending high pressure after high pressure of Arctic/Siberian air masses through the 1st week of February at least. -EPO does not fail to do so. Models most likely are underestimating them next week.

checked accuweather, weather bug, and local news stations on weather for next week, they're not mentioning any events, just the cold and they're being bullish on that.

Ntxw's point is that with a tanking -EPO forecast, it's inevitable that we will get more cold air dumps south out of Canada. Models will probably be playing catch up. The main limiting factor to how cold we get will be the source region temps. If NW Canada gets loaded with cold Siberian air then look out because it's coming.
