I almost forgot about tomorrow night's season finale! I'd better edit my DH recording....it's 2 hours, corect?
Here I was thinking after Lost's finale, I'd be done for the summer. Okay, after these 2 I am done-done. I am looking forward to not turning on that thing! LOL
I really Hope Tom is not cheating.

Yes. 9-11pm ET.
Much(if not all) of the first hour will be flashbacks back to Moving Day, and will also explain more of the Mary Alice mystery/Deidre, and Melanie Foster(the girl that Caleb supposedly killed).
I really hope Tom's not cheating either... or if it was cheating, it was before Lynette, but I have to tell you, that woman he met this past episode looked about his age and it looked like a romantic setting.

The last few lines is very spoilerish about tomorrow night, but not really specific.
'Housewives' casts Applewhites aside
By William Keck, USA TODAY
Mehcad Brooks is sitting alone in the nearly cleared-out Applewhite living room. It is his last day as part of the Desperate Housewives cast.
Just a year ago, he won the role of Alfre Woodard's son on TV's hottest show, with much hype surrounding his character and the top-secret mystery that was supposed to be pivotal to Season 2.
In the season premiere, we met a woman (Woodard) with son Matthew (Brooks), whom some speculated might really be her secret lover, and another young man locked away in their basement (first Page Kennedy, who was fired over misconduct and replaced with NaShawn Kearse). But the son turned out to be just her son, and the other young man was a second son who had murdered the first son's girlfriend. Not so much a mystery as back story.
"It's been frustrating," says Brooks, his head in his hands. "I had a really rough personal year. The relationship that I was in was completely butting heads with my work. And I lost sleep over a stalker. He found me and gave me a script to read."
At work, Brooks became increasingly disappointed with how the Applewhite story developed, or, more accurately, did not. "It didn't pan out," he says, noting love scenes he shot with Joy Lauren (Danielle) never made it on air. "The show is called Desperate Housewives; it's not called The Applewhites, and Betty Applewhite (Alfre Woodard) wasn't quite incorporated. There was seniority and priority, and we were marginalized and completely segregated from every family except the Van De Kamps."
As for Woodard, who declined to talk for this story, Brooks says, "You have one of the greatest actresses of our time. ... I don't want to say that her talent was squandered, but a lot of people expected a lot more. And I'm one of those people."
But Brooks says the Applewhites get a big sendoff in the finale that involves a flashback to their life in Chicago. "It's a completely unexpected shocker that will satisfy a lot of people," Brooks says.
Adds creator Marc Cherry: "They're going out with a bang".

Wow, what a show tonight. First off my youngest daughter Laura watched part of it. Asking me a ton of questions. She heard about how how cute Andrew was, where is he she wanted to know. Didn't you think he'd pop up? I did! Surprise there. I didn't see Matthew being the murderer. But maybe that storyline bored me. I'm shocked at Carlos. That is still a twisted marriage. In fact, they're all a twisted, twisted lot!
Except Lynette. God love her, she is still my very favorite and I loved it when she gave the one night stand girl a hard time. You go girl! Tom looked a little wimpy in the coffee shop and kitchen scenes but Lynette's personality is so strong and she will not let another women take what is hers. I am SO happy Tom wasn't cheating! Is this the situation he alluded to when his dad visited. Is his oldest child - Kayla - the big secret?
All I can say is this - this show is really, really hard to explain to someone during commercial breaks! I tried but Laura said DH is one scary show. And I laughed asking - what does that make Lost? LOL To me, DH is just one huge dysfunctional show! No one is really normal on that street. Well, maybe Lynette.....but my gosh, she's it! Susan is just too dingy for me.....and where was Edie? I missed the first 40 minutes, I'll watch it tomorrow (don't have a heart attack Brent, it's on our DVR!). I don't recall seeing Edie.
Poor Mike......I think he'll make it. As soon as we saw that scene, we blurted out - Earl!

I have to say that this finale was SO much better than last year. I think it's because this wasn't hyped to death and it wasn't quite as predictable. I didn't see the Applewhite storyline ending like THAT, whereas last season nothing surprised me, and the cliffhanger this year was really good as opposed to last year and it's left me mad that it's on hiatus for 4 months.

I just watched it, I had to wait till Dora was over, What a good show tonight!!! I was really hoping that Lynette wasnt going to break up with Tom... They look so good together.... A far as the Michael being the murderer, that was totally out of left field.. Bree just cant seem to find a "normal" guy who isnt plotting to kill someone.. and I was really happy to see Susan and Mike kiss again for the first time... So sweet... but there is NOOOOOOO way they are going to write him off the show, he is a major sex symbol!!! ((his real wife must be sooo proud!!)) Great show... 5 stars... and no, I didnt see Edie either, she must still be in the hospital from the bee bites from last week... My only complaint was there was tooooo many commercials!!!
Over All 5 Stars!!!

YG - ditto on the commercials - too many! I kept flipping back and forth between the 10.5 movie and DH (knowing DH was on the DVR upstairs).
Forgot about Edie being in the hospital but you'd think Mary Alice would talk about Edie's first days as a neighbor! If I were Nicollette Sheridan, I'd be even more upset by now at less press than the others.
I predict that Lynette and Tom will be raising his oldest daughter. And the wacky mother, for lack of a better word, will be in and out of the picture, causing trouble, until they are granted full custody. With a mother like that, you know Kayla will be an even more handful than the twins have been. Poor Lynette - what did she sign up for when she fell for Tom....a pack of kids and a secret child. In Tom's defense, this could happen to any man, with a past. If Lynette manages to pull all of this off and keep their marriage in tact, it will be the only normal one on the street. Wonder what Mrs. McCluskey will have to say about Kayla....you know she'll be giving her 2 cents to Tom!
No new neighbors, as last year ended. Except for Kayla, who we haven't met yet. She will be an out of control kid, mark my words. Maybe even worse than Andrew!

23.96 million viewers average for the 2 hours... down 22% from last year's finale but significantly up from previous weeks. Final numbers will be out later, but here's the fast nationals:
Part one of the "Desperate Housewives" season finale posted a 14.3/22 for ABC at 9 p.m. CBS dropped to second with a "CSI: Miami" rerun, 7.1/11. NBC failed to shake things up with its movie "10.5: Apocalypse," managing only a 5.4/8. Another hour of "Family Guy" scored a 5.0/8 for FOX. The WB aired a "Charmed" rerun.
"Housewives" improved to 15.5/25 at 10 p.m., better than the combined total for CBS' "CSI: NY" repeat (7.8/13) and NBC's "Apocalypse" (5.2/8).

"ABC’s “Desperate Housewives” endured a sophomore slump for sure, with ratings fall off over the second half of the year after a red-hot start to the year and viewers complaining about a creative decline for the show.
But “Housewives” will leave the same way it entered the season, as the hottest scripted program on TV.
Last night’s season finale averaged a 9.8 adults 18-49 overnight rating, 5 percent better than its 9.3 season-to-date average and a tenth better than the finale average for “Grey’s Anatomy” last week, making it the highest-rated scripted season finale thus far this sweeps.

Take that CSI and Grey's Anatomy.
