It will be Pittsburgh heaven in our house for the Superbowl... my step-dad is a huge steelers fan.... oh believe me, I may have to leave the house on superbowl sunday.

I'm sitting in Charleston right now... (I visited a few friends for about a week.) now back to home. I found out that we will not need to attend our drill weekends until March! Its a week deserved vacation from military!

Have a wonderful monday (urgh... yes, I know its a monday)

Shannon, your step-dad has great taste!!!!! It's crazy around here. 30,000 people at a huge pep rally on Friday. Fans were at the airport this morning seeing the team off. Everyone wears their black and gold daily. I love it!!!!

Miss Mary, I don't understand how you were able to figure out who Karan is rooting for in the Superbowl. You must be psychic!!!!  Was the give away the KK's in Steeler colors?hehehe

Please continue your prayers for my MIL. She is not improving at all and may actually be slipping some. We are praying that the Lord's will be done in this situation. We know she doesn't want to be like she is but she is not in a terminal condition so that her advanced directives would kick in. As I have said before she has two great grandbabies(boys) due at basically any moment and she doesn't even talk about them now.

David, you know my prayers will continue for your MIL. ((HUGS)) for your family. May Gods will be done.

Now yunz guys don't really think I'm EXCITED do you. Actually my daughter wants me to go down to her home in Roanoke to bring some Steeler spirit and watch the game. So if you see a car with Steeler colors and a Terry Bradshaw blow up doll in the back seat, (I take my blowup doll wherever I go)lol  and Steeler flags hanging out the windows, that will be me driving down 79 and bringin the spirit to the south.

Omg Pburgh....i haven't heard the slang "yunz" in years. I would spend summers up in pittsburgh and by the time i came home i was saying "yunz" instead of "y'all"!

Actually I never say that. Remember, I'm from West Virginia and prefer Y'al.

Really I don't say either!!lol I love the Pittsburgheze though. They say Pittsburgh Stillers instead of Steelers, haus instead of house, dauntawn instead of downtown, slippy instead of slippery, jumbo instead of bologna, and oodles of other odd ball pronunciations.

HERE WE GO STILLERS!!!!!!LOL

I want more oddball pronunciations! Cracking up here Karan.....LOL

That does it, I guess I can root for those Stillers - b/c well here in Cincy we call your beloved team, the Steelers. When we're feeling nice....LOL So the "Stillers" are a bunch of of hillbillies Andy and Barney are arresting in Mayberry for making moonshine!

Update on my posting here from Friday 1/27:

I was offered the position this afternoon, and I accepted! There will be a two-week overlap of my current position in Ft. Lauderdale and the new one in Lake Worth which will make those two Mondays l-o-n-g (12+ hr. days, including travel time), but thereafter I won't teach in Ft. Lauderdale during spring term (April-June). The course will meet M + W 6-9 p.m. for 8 weeks. There's a possibility of additional seminar opportunities and possibly teaching more courses summer and/or fall terms this year.

I'm excited to be working with people who feel "called" to the field of education. My position will involve a good deal of research, review, planning, learning state certification regulations, and training to use new technology on my own part, but I'm really looking forward to the challenge, as well as to the privilege, of this opportunity! :P

Diane, congratulations on your new job!!!! It sounds exciting.

I never thought I would publicly say it after the Oilers and Steelers era of the 80's but I am going to be rooting for the Steelers too.

Thanks again everyone for the continued prayers for my MIL.

Bless your heart Mary. I'd be rootin for the Bengals if you were in it. Thanks
David, you're a sweetie!!

Pittsburghese ------ Gumband instead of Rubber band. Jeet jet? No, ju? - That means did you eat yet? No, did you? Slept in instead of overslept. Red up instead of straighten up. Up air instead of up there. Rilly instead of Really. Turn signals are called Blinkers. A shopping cart is called a buggy. When you get upset you have a caniishun. Remote control is called a clicker. Crick instead of creek. A jerk is called a jag off.

Ok, I'll put on a pot of Earl Grey and leave some gold and black KK's for all to enjoy.

GO STEELERS.

Thanks for the KK's!! That weird colored icing still tastes the same as the "regular" ones.

Hello everyone! I'm gearing up for Sunday too, but, I'm rooting for Seattle...I just can't bring myself to like the Steelers. Although, if they do win, then I guess that's okay too, because that means the hometown team was beaten by the best.

I am also gearing up for the hospital stay tomorrow. I'm going in at 8am and may be out by Friday midday. Like I said in the other thread when I first learned that it was gonna happen, it's nothing...and yet, I'm still worried. There's always that chance something may go wrong.

Got myself a new computer this past weekend. I'm having problems setting up my internet connection to my room (which is gonna be wireless, but it's not costing extra since we already have internet)...any ideas?

That's it for me. Gonna settle down here and have me some cocoa. Later!

How Ironic... I get to leave the house on Superbowl Sunday... I have to go up to the local CBS station by me to talk with a wxman that I used to work under... I'm sure he'll want to see my resume tape from the 'other' news stationed I interned at last January.

Go Steelers!
