Someone, not going to name any names... What if someone had planned a picnic for sunday when it was suppose to reach 80 degrees, and your forecast was 2 days off and they should have planned their picnic for friday.. They would be pretty pissed... Good thing nobody relied on your forecast.
Notice how on the map i posted, the 558 line goes to 80 degrees north latitude!

AGAIN.. JUST TO REPEAT... I BELIEVE THERE WILL BE SCATTERED SHOWERS AROUND FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY.
DO NOT JUMP ALL OVER ME THE FIRST TIME SOMETHING APPEARS ON THE RADAR.
My predicted highs for Sea-Tac:
Friday - 68 degrees
Saturday - 71 degrees
Sunday - 67 degrees
My predicted highs for Bellevue:
Friday - 71 degrees
Saturday - 72 degrees
Sunday - 69 degrees
My predicted highs in North Bend:
Friday - 72 degrees
Saturday - 76 degrees
Sunday - 69 degrees
Currently sunny and 67 degrees at my house.
Nobody else even ventured to forecast. My revised forecast had Saturday being the warmest day.
THIS APRIL IS VERY CLOSE TO NORMAL.
ASK ANY PERSON AT THE NWS OFFICE.... PLEASE!!!!!!!
It is normal to have temperature swings.
It is normal to have thunderstorms
We had a period of days roughly 2-7 degrees below normal... some days near normal... one day 14 degrees above normal... and now a period with temperatures 2-7 degrees above normal.
We have had normal rainfall.
We have seen a few thunderstorms.
THIS IS NORMAL.
And it is almost May... 5580 heights going to the North Pole will not bring very cold weather. Maybe a little below normal.
SUCH EXTREME DRAMA... OVER NORMAL SPRING
WEATHER.
Yawn....

It looks like another warm period on the way...
THE LOW LEVEL FLOW WILL ALSO BECOME OFFSHORE ONCE AGAIN...WITH DAYTIME TEMPS CLIMBING WELL ABOVE NORMAL. ASSUMING THE MODELS ARE CORRECT...THERE IS A CHANCE THAT PREDICTED TEMPS FOR THE MIDWEEK TIME FRAME MAY NOT BE WARM ENOUGH.
We will see.
But this is nicely balancing out our cool period at the beginning of the month.
Brennan... why don't you try forecasting this week out for a couple locations?

*Brennan* wrote:You say that it is factual that this is a normal month... It would be normal for temps to be about 5 degrees above normal for a week and then 5 degrees below normal for the week after... When we have temps as far below normal as we had just recently, and then we got straight to temps in the upper 70's and 10-15 degrees above normal, THAT IS AN ABNORMAL WAY TO GET NORMAL MONTHLY TEMPERATURES... It is your opinion that this month is a typical april month... The way you look at it, which is the final average, sure it LOOKS NORMAL if you don't look in depth to how that average happened through the course of the month... You are missing a piece there.
Looking in depth as you say...
20 out of 23 days in the month of April have been within 5 degrees of normal.
11 out of 23 days have been within 2 degrees of normal.
One day 7 degrees below normal. One day 7 degrees above normal.
And one really warm day.
Wow. What a crazy month!!

If the forecast for this week is correct... we will see another 7 days with temperatures above normal.
Guess what??
That will leave April with 15 days at or above normal and 15 days with temperatures below normal.
And probably more than 80% of the days within 5 degrees of normal.
This is an incredibly normal April. Considering some of the wild swings we can see in this month it is pretty amazing how normal it has been!!

Not a bad day yesterday...not the greatest, but I'll take it for the end of April. The day started sunny and mild...by noon alot of high/middle clouds started to filter the sunshine. I went for a hike on Whidbey Island and at 3pm, a minor marine push came in...the temperature went from 68F to 57F within an hour. And the breezes also picked up.
This upcoming week looks awesome!! Could it be warmer than Friday?! Tuesday looks to be the warmest day...a think ALOT of places will go beyond the 80-degree mark...do I dare say 85F?!
Brennan...
Enough with the arguing. You're getting annoying. Just enjoy the warm/sunny weather. Why do you want rain/cold weather at the end of April? It's not winter anymore.

This is interesting, I was reading through this section on komotv.com called "Ask Steve" and there was a question about freezing temperatures in Seattle. Supposedly Seattle averages 4 days a year where the temperature never gets above freezing and before last year it hadn't happened since 1998! Also they average 60 days where the temperature gets below freezing and I have no idea when the last time that happened was. Sure illustrates the boring winters we've been having.

Must not have been that strong. No news locally on any tornadoes and even the Yakima news has it as a small story.
Sounds like some funnel clouds and if they did touch down there was no damage.
I remember funnel clouds (and water spouts) happening all the time in coastal Southern California. It is very common down there.

Stunning day outside.
64 degrees and sunny here. Should be close to 70 degrees out here in North Bend!!
I am glad its not gloomy and rainy with highs in the mid 50's!!
Looking back at some historical records... it is amazing how normal this month has been. I was surprised at the extremes we can see in April.
April of 2005 is about as normal as it gets!!
