Looking at radar out to the west, toward Jacksboro and up toward Bowie, I don't know if that is heavy sleet or maybe even snow. I know the obs have been coming in as light snow, but that does happen sometimes and it not be snow. It won't be long before we get into that band to the west here.

Seems like the sub-freezing temps are riding slightly further South & East than this map, but because the dome is so shallow, it's basically rain/freezing rain. In my case, I'm still in the 60s, with 32-41 degrees not far away at all.

You know what I was just thinking about. How in the heck did people here well before us survive this stuff? They did not have storm2k.org, no NAM, GFS, not even a one day forecast. I mean I hear about old sayings, but how in the heck did they survive in temps and weather like this not knowing when it could/might end and not have homes the way they are today. Imagine driving a herd of cattle across the open plains and one day off to your north you see the sky has a dark blue color to it.................

Yeah - it's 32 at Denton and 32 at Fort Worth Meacham.... so I think the line is further east.

I am at 36.2 here in Midlothian.

All snow now falling in Abilene. I'd say 2 inches of snow and ice already on the ground and still snowing hard.

Escaping winter is easy --- build a fire and put on all your heavy clothes --- preferably made of buffalo hide.

Escaping the oppressive summers here is the real issue.... and when the water temps in the creek run 88+ degrees..... well, you can't really cool off.

I wonder how San Angelo's doing. The radar has awesome returns, but I know a lot of it may be ice pellets (sleet).

Denton says light snow, just stepped outside don't see anything. Sometimes this observation site reports snow when its 32 with precip. Anyhow, it looks to be on the way.

Though the freezing line is moving south according to obs, it is not really following the same trend on radar. I wonder what gives? False returns?

Just took a walk outside to bring the dog in. The wind is brutal. A bit more tolerable at 36 though I would imagine. This kind of wind in the mid 20's or teens --- ugh.....
