Transformers popping every where around my neighborhood. For us this is worst than Irma.

Also got to 86 mph per WFTV. I'm 2 miles from there and man is it kicking out there.

Inexplicably, I still have power. But I've seen a few blue flashes in the distance throughout the night. Biggest gust coming through as I type. This looks hurricane force.

In Bartow, had some really good gusts here. Power went out about 30 times before finally giving up. Been enjoying the calm of the center of circulation, back side should be coming through any second

So far worse than Irma but not a Charley. Butler chain lakes water was above the docks before the storm. Ground was super saturated. Lost a ton of oaks in Charley. It could happen again. 24 hour rainfall totals have to be over a foot by now.

I’ve heard the winds increasing here in Melbourne. The tornado was confirmed according to WFTV.

Thanks for the update. I've got a lot of friends in the area.

I’m amazed I still have power. Most around me don’t. Wesh tv showed confirmed gusts of 75mph in Leesburg, about 15 miles south of me. I believe it, this one has been worse than what we had with Irma. I’ve seen a lot of local reports of trees and power lines down on roads, roofing pulling off of homes etc. Unbelievable with how far south of us it made landfall. :double:

We’re going to be seeing images of a lot of destruction in the coming days.

Still have power in Seminole County but I've started losing shingles and my fence has collapsed. Starting to get pretty rough.

Funnily enough, mine just came back on after being out for about 3-4 hours. We are looking alright as far as damage, but we have heard some bumps on the roof, and we got some gnarly gusts about an hour ago. Lake mary/sanford here. Stay safe.

Chances this thing randomly stalls and reforms after it exits?

skillz305 wrote:Guys… pray for the treasure coast. That tornado that went thru Vero was completely devastating. The images I’ve seen look horrible. A lot of people lost their homes. I’m not sure if it was the same tornado but one also ravaged thru northern St. Lucie County where it went thru the Spanish Lakes Community. 15 people from that community have been pronounced deceased at local hospital. Others missing. Worst tornados in Florida history?

Probably the worst tornadoes since February 23, 1998 or at least 2007. Milton might be the hurricane with the highest fatality count with tornadoes possibly. Not sure if the F4s from Carla and Hilda in the 60s had higher death rates or Gracie 1959.

Have power again after losing it for ~3 hours. A couple pretty strong gusts took a few chunks out of my family's roof and our neighbor's tree is looking significantly worse for the wear. We had quite a bit of rainfall (Temple Terrace area) but thankfully we have good drainage so it wasn't a problem. Hoping everyone else is faring well, this looks worse than Irma from what I've seen.

WOW! Graphic posted earlier stated 5.5in/1hr was a 1000 year event for st pete, this has got to be far beyond that. 40in in a day... incredible to see, but lots of people are probably having the worst night of their life right now.

Gusts and rain picked back up here just north of orlando, very curious to see what we get on the tail end of this thing. Surface obs are showing some surprisingly high gusts on the west side of the storm, well inland, even on the dry side.

Note the band of 50mph+ gusts extending down the peninsula on the west side:

Edit: Sanford airport just reported their highest gust yet, graph on the nws site doesnt want to give me an exact value, but looks like about 67-69mph or so, vs our highest of 64 in the first round.
