Re: ATL: ISAIAS - Hurricane - Discussion
It's amazing. I tracked three hurricane seasons (2000, 2001, 2002) with only one weakened U.S. hurricane landfall (Lili).
Now we're on hurricane #2 within ten days.

Looks like it’ll slide by Myrtle Beach. Maybe Oak Island will be landfall. Seems to want to go more east

Radar velocities as high as 130mph on the ne side, about 55 miles from the radar site. How high up is that?

That would support about 80-85 kt at the surface.

Didn't expect those Recon findings. Last thing the Carolinas need is a RI hurricane.

I think this is going to be a wild ride tomorrow for the big cities. I don't anticipate wind where I am but I'm charging all my devices just to be sure. Won't be able to work but I'll at least be able to read my Kindle and text!

Some of those inbound velocities to Wilmington radar are >120 mph. That is crazy.

3 years in a row for Hurricane landfall in NC. Florence, Dorian, soon to be Isaias. 4 of last 5 with Matthew in 2016. Reminding me of the mid to late 90s activity

Looks like it's going to try and pull a Bertha as it comes in. Ironically both were also heavily sheared to the point of weakening as they passed Florida as well.
