On top of that, the eye maybe finally making its appearance now. It looks barely discernable on the RGB loop, but is a little more noticible on IR loops.

At first I thought the SW side of the storm was looking somewhat ragged but as I get different views it might have just been my imagination. This storm DOES have very good outflow in all directions, esp. to the north. When it crosses the islands and continues to head west, this thing should blow up into a monster.

I'm kinda torn where I want this storm to go. On one hand I'm hoping through the channel so that Yucatan can avoid alot of destruction and possible deaths, but on the other hand I don't want it to go through the channel because then that means no weakening and we don't know what kind of monster might emerge in the gulf, so no good answer here. I guess all we have to hope for is that somehow it will be weaker than currently forecasted.

What do you mean? the GFS has Dean hitting Mexico?
