Sounds like a bust. Guess I am glad they have already canceled school, just in case.

I still hope we see some sort of winter precip.

If you were expecting a good amount of snow it's likely a bust (which still puzzles me how some forecasters had 5+ inches last night). But there is still winter weather to be had likely sleet and/or freezing rain so wait until it is over to call a verdict.

Well in that case yes, sure why not! Warm nose worries me though, I was hoping for more snow for you guys. It's unbelievable though I was going through a few models how it has just appeared and keep appearing stronger each run. I blame wxman57, he is doing his dirty work in SE Texas with intense heat lamps shooting up into the clouds. We should've sent him off somewhere before this all started.

EWX must be paying attention to the NAM. Earlier my point forecast was a 20% chance of precip and no accumulation mentioned, now it is 30% with less than half an inch of snow.

My only worry is the dew point is sitting at 5 degrees right now. I may be wrong but won't a lot of the precip evaporate before it even makes it to the ground?

Haha I'm still hopeful that I will wake up to at least a dusting of snow on the ground here. Yeah after yesterday's 12z model runs it looked like a lot of us had a decent chance of seeing a pretty good sleet/snow mix from this event.

Seeking a repost of an image that was posted several pages back. It was a near full globe showing the warmer air out of the Pacific through Alaska and up towards the north pole above the colder air being pushed down.

Probably back around page 225 or so, but I can't remember and I can't find it.
