Cold last night. Winter still hanging-in there.

Sun above equator should take care of that quickly.

Yea, it was colder than even the revised forecast predicted. I like these types of days though. Lows in the 40's, highs in the 70's.

Well, it looks like 80s are here to stay in the FL peninsula through at least the next 7 days, the euro wants to keep the ridge of high pressure through at least the next 10 days. Sunny, warm and drier for at least central and southern FL.
I would not be surprised if we start seeing some upper 80s in interior central & northern FL by the end of the week.
This kind of weather should help keep warming up the surf temps.

Wow, the high is in solid control right now in South Florida, and from the looks of the satellite pics, all of Florida. Since that early-week soaking, I haven't seen a cloud in the sky. Moderate ESE breeze. Comfortably warm in the lower 80s, but a very strong sun. The South Beach tourists are going to be looking like lobsters...

Water temps already responding to the return of typical Springtime weather....won't be long before we see temps approaching 80 deg in the surf.

Just phenomenal weather going on right now...and wow is it deserved. gulf waters remain cold (mid 60's off west central fl) but i expect those temps to pop 10 degrees in the next month. in the interim, with strong seabreezes forming i think there's a good chance i won't need to turn on my ac until may... much deserved payback for all the money i blew on heat in the winter!

It shouldn't be long for the Gulf warm-up. The day started chilly from the weak front but the sun really took it up a notch later in the day.

I'm really tired of this weather already. It's boring. Bring on the storms.

The wise man says watch what you wish for. Especially if you live in Miami.

The sun is really starting to turn on now. :sun:

haha...at this point I'll take some good summer-style thunderstorms. Looks like that trough in the Plains is starting to dig a little and nudge that high a little bit, but the associated front's going to lose punch by the time it gets down here. Supposed to be not much moisture recovery, and little dynamics if any. Then the high builds back in even stronger.

April looking pretty dry....seems to be trying to make up for the comparatively wet winter. Quite a well-defined high on the satellite pic right now, looks textbook.

some fairly spicy storms are approaching the west coast of florida with the most intense cells west of pasco and northern pinellas counties headed east. if they hold together a pretty good dumping is in order with a good light show.

Hmmm...certainly a preview of the rainy season this entire week here in SFL. Typically the rainy season starts the third week in May. To go from nearly two months straight of below normal temps and a very persistent Eastern CONUS trough to this type of pattern in a matter of a couple of weeks is quite a change in the long-wave pattern as the OMEGA block builds in...

LONG TERM...MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY...THE SFC BOUNDARY WILL FURTHER
WEAKEN AND BECOME DIFFUSE AS IT MOVES SLOWLY NORTH. EVEN THOUGH A
UPPER LEVEL RIDGE IS EXPECTED TO BUILD NORTH FROM THE GULF OF
MEXICO THROUGH THE CENTRAL PLAINS RESULTING IN AN A SORT OF
"OMEGA" BLOCK PATTERN...A RATHER MODERATE/STRONG EAST FLOW WILL BE
ENOUGH TO ADVECT AMPLE MOISTURE FROM THE ATLANTIC OVER S. FLORIDA
TO KEEP THE LOCAL AREA UNDER A CHANCE OF RAIN DURING THIS PERIOD.
EXPECT MOST OF THE ACTIVITY TO BE ENHANCED OVER THE EAST COAST AT
NIGHTTIME AND EARLY MORNING HOURS AND OVER THE REST OF MAINLAND S.
FLORIDA DURING THE AFTERNOONS.

Heavy cell developed over us. 1 inch.

Never seen a dry season like this. Standing water in April.

I was driving home from Orlando yesterday, and I have never seen so many yellow flowers on both sides of I-4 before. Before I left I was sitting on a red painted balcony overlooking another part of the hotel, whose roof was also painted red. With all of the pollen, the roof was actually bright shades of yellow. I wish we would get some rain to clean everything off for a bit. It is literally raining pollen under sine trees.
