Per the 0Z NAM and GFS last night...
Sugar Land is now just 2F above the forecasted temp on the NAM and 5F off the GFS. It's cooling down quickly.

Let's see if we can give your temps a further chill....this is it when it roared through Grand Forks (and it arrived here quicker than was originally predicted). Sending wishes that you get all the snow you want!

Heading down to -29C here again tonight....
....find your hoodies, and make some snowmen way, way, way down there!

That was a rapid drop in temperatures around 9:30 I went out to look at the thermometer with light rain falling and it showed 34 degrees. Within 40 minutes I went to check and it showed 26 on a thermometer I have about 50 feet away from the house. Also have a second thermometer further out. I have a Galaxy S4. The awesome thing about this phone is it has built in weather sensors including Temp, Barometer, realitive humidity as well as some others. I have a weather station app. Left the phone outside where it wouldn't get wet and left it for 5 minutes. It is pretty accurate too and showed 26 degrees. I'm getting ready to go back out there and try another reading with my phone. I'll need to be careful though cause I saw that ice has started to coat the limestone patio we have and it's not fun at all to slip.

0zECMWF has around 0.10-0.15 of precip for my area from Midnight to 6AM Wednesday. The real winners with precip is the McAllen and Harlingen area with 0.20-0.30. Interesting weather setting up here that's for sure!

I'm not sure why EWX continues to say that only light amounts expected. I'm looking at a NEXRAD radar right now and it looks like the precipitation is beginning to redevelop out over the Hill Country and train across the Austin area. It's not moving. Earlier it looked like it was just going to move west to east with a break but that doesn't look to be the case now. If it continues to redevelop and move over the same areas we could be dealing with some nasty problems.

The Galaxy S4 does not have what you think it does. That info is fed to it by NWS reports at your nearest large airport. My reports automatically come from the GRK site.

Despite very dry dew points in Central tx, they seem to be getting a lot of "action" atm

I am amazed how the 0Z models did an about face tonight. Just goes to show how unpredictable these types of setups can be.
It has been fun though tracking with you guys. I am usually a TC geek so winter is not my specialty...

ROCK, what do you mean? The 0Z GFS trended dryer from the meteograms I looked at in SETX/SWLA. I'm watching the sky at this point, but I'm interested to know what you mean about the "about face" you're referring to. I haven't looked at the NAM or CMC, are they wetter?

the hi-res NAM was wetter as was the 12Z and 0Z CMC....not too much but approaching that .25 amount that makes overpasses dangerous....HGX just updated their discussion. Similar event to Fridays for us here in Houston and surrounding areas.
now for you guys in LA that is a whole different animal....snow more is likely along with a mix....

Tonight's 0z Euro shows more potential winter precip for Texas in the 6-10 day range. It's almost our snow month in central and SE TX!

10-4. Best of luck you yall down south. I'm no longer in LC, I'm up near Tyler. Radar echos say snow is approaching me, but it is virga thus far
EDIT: The heavy band just rolled through here in Jacksonville, and I'm not seeing anything. Those dew points are overpowering the precip this far north. Best of luck you yall down south.

Actually it does have those sensors you can look at the specs.
Also the closest airport to me is ABIA and it's showing a different temperature than what the reading is here. For more proof the thermometers in my yard have the same temp as what my phone is picking up. Humidity is up from earlier as well. Temp as of 6 minutes ago is hovering at 26.86 earlier it was 26.14 so looks like it's not going down any farther.
