doesn't surface wind being 20+mph mean that the pressure should be extrapolated to 2mb lower?

Super Typhoon Tip in 1979 has the record, 870 MB!

yes joe, i believe TWC just said that pressure may be lower than they are reporting now....i bet NHC is shuddering now.....How low will she go??? we are in unprecedented uncharted unfound waters here..... :eek: :roll:

The met on board extrap'ed 881mb. The dropsonde has 884.
