I was expecting the NWS in Brownsville would have issued at least a Winter Weather Advisory by now.
NWS BRO is forecasting 60% snow/sleet for me tonight, and 60% of snow/sleet tomorrow morning. My only thought as to why some kind of advisory or warning has not been issued is because they believe there will be little or no accumulation.
Problem is that while people in Austin, San Antonio, and Houston have trouble driving in these conditions, the folks in deep South Texas really don't have a clue as to how to navigate in these types of conditions. Without an advisory or warning, schools may opt not to cancel, which can lead to travel headaches. We shall see once they issue their afternoon discussion.
