Well that storm that blew through Ponder, let me tell you I was down south in Northlake looking at it and as I got into town there was trees down, trash cans everywhere, shingles getting ripped off a roofs. Quite the storm

Surprised no one is talking about the hailer moving into Denton right now. Good thing the core is behind the boundary, or else some rotation shenanigans may have been afoot. Looks like it made an attempt a short while ago to wrap the boundary back in, but couldn’t quite do it and is being outrun.

Warning's been extended to the western 1/3rd of Collin County, although it seems to mostly be for outflow winds for the far southern portion. There's also a SPS for the outflow in Tarrant County.

Yes I was watching that storm in the very Southern Fringe where that hook was dropping out and let me tell you the amount of dust I saw swirling down on the surface was very very spooky.

I was down in that area trying to get home and just watched it in an amazement, like this is really cool but it was also very elevated.

Wow, I have windows open. In early September. I don't do this unless it's below 70 outside.

Even growing up in Kansas we were usually sweating about this time at the state fair with low 90s or at least upper 80s. This is some crazy weather, but I am loving it.

A nice soaking rain falling this morning across the San Antonio metro.

Some areas across the region this weekend including NW Bexar County have picked up a 2-3 inches of rain with even a few isolated pockets of 5 inches across the southern Hill Country north of San Antonio.

In addition areas out west also did pretty well overnight. Temps feel great. Got to enjoy it before the mid 90's return this week.

It seems like the first 'big' cold front of autumn happens a few days either side of the equinox. The front today is not the big one, but it isn't shabby. Decent rain with it. The first real cold front doesn't officially end hurricane season here but with the tropics dead (on the Euro ensembles, anyway) I'm thinking the season is winding down. However, there is an October hurricane about every 50 years, the 1949 Freeport storm crossed from the Pacific and was a high end Cat 2 when it hit Freeport. 1989 and Jerry was 36 years, in a sense return frequency is meaningless except as a probability, but any given year has a 2% chance of an October storm.

Silver lining if this year is the 2%, unlike last year, an October hurricane won't send me to DFW to have working AC.

I actually watch this guy quite a bit during storm season. He is a YouTuber. I believe he got his official Meteorology degree this past spring. He's a good guy and knows his stuff; however, I'm sure he may lack the experience of more seasoned forecasters.

I dunno man I'm keeping my expectations very low. Most of the analogs here that I found so far have sucked

People are wanting to equate a cool wet summer to a cold snowy winter but honestly our snowiest winter here was between two of the worst summers we've ever seen so yeah I dunno

Also the two wettest years here it barely snowed in the winter and so far were still on pace for a very wet year... Heck they were among the warmest winters we've seen even

I mean it's not hopeless 2020 was an easy summer too but its literally like all over the place

Of course last winter our biggest snowstorm here came out of nowhere with no hype too so... That was the same storm the Euro kept showing a foot in DFW and all the snow south of us

And by sunset the very next day 80 percent of the snow was gone because temperatures were so borderline even up here

Beautiful fall-like temperatures this morning with low-60's.

Not looking forward to the warm up later this week. I'm headed to Arkansas for a football game and the forecast for Saturday is sunny and 97F.
