Miss Mary wrote:Just emailed raine. And sit down fo this one - I also emailed angelheart. If we could get angel here, that would be awesome! Sure hope she takes my note to heart and at least gives Storm2K a looksee. I'm sure she'll be impressed, if nothing else. She's quite loyal to TWC though. As thundercat is too. Hard to break that tie, it took me a while but I'm so glad I came over.
I emailed Lisa (angelheart) too Mary. Hopefully if she sees both of our emails she will peek in here. thundercat is a big Nascar fan... perhaps later on, storm2k can start a Nascar or racing forum. He would show up then.

While I find Storm2k to be refreshing and open...and frankly to be a more powerful communication tool, I still hold much respect for many of those at TWC and weather.com.
Through the years, I have come to know some of the folks at the top, in the middle, and behind the scenes. Each of them, all of them have been nothing but open and forthright with me personally.
They are not, however, warm and fuzzy. There is a sense of arrogance and untouchability. Whether out of fear or plain and simple distrust...they hold those who would do nothing to harm them so far out on the end of their arm that they can't begin to see who is really there...or what value they represent as fans and supporters.
I continue to work with my friends and colleagues at TWC by sharing these concerns.
Some judgement mistakes were made at weather.com, but that does not mean that we should give up on them. After all, for many of us, for most of us, they continue to be a terrific source of weather information.
Let's see what the future may hold. And Dennis, may I add my compliments on how you handled the parting, too. I realize the White Mountains may be shaking beneath the calm exterior, but you did a terrific job of slipping out the door.

I agree Steve - I hope for their sake they finally wake up and realize the fans that knew and loved them along time ago was their best resource and friend! How different they are from when they first started back in the 1980's. They grew because they were "warm and fuzzy" and approachable. Now, they look at the remaining posters that are there as gnats - only a small, insignificant percentage of their viewers.

The truth of the matter is.....that I truly don't have the time to spend there and here as a mod, it's true, we have started our 5th year in business and this is BY FAR, the BEST year thus far, not to mention we are the new K9 Search and Rescue cord. for the White Mountain Apache Tribe, that in itself is a FULL time position! I thank God that He gave me a way to bow out gracefully from TWC.

As usual, I'm a late comer to this thread. I just dropped in over there. Dang pop ups! I still can't get over how they take the wardrobes of the OCM's so seriously. I said hi to Big Dave. He's in another battle royal about evolution. Why am I not surprised? He's a good egg in the long run.

I don't know if those are the types of posters they want but when TWC boards were at there prime last year, there would've been alot of us telling them to "get a life!".
Someone over there in the Severe Weather forum was bemoaning the fact the other day that there was alot of severe weather happening and noone was posting!

After watching from the sidelines at what TWC is capable of doing to loyal posters and true blue fans... they deserve exactly what they get in the distant future. I know it is not good to wish bad upon others, but sometimes you just can't help it.
Hopefully they will not have storm stories or other propaganda during a major cane this year. That would be horrible!! :o
