Yeah the hurricane hunters deserve to rest. They have to go back and forth so far all the time. I mean it's a lot better if the system is close to them, but not now.

May have two centers

Hot link - won't last - but look at protoPhilippe. http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/DATA/RT ... -loop.html
There's an obvious center - but just to the NE is another blob of clouds. That looks to be entrained in the main center's LLC, but if you look closely at the SW side of the secondary blob things seem to be moving SE, not the NW you'd expect. That secondary blob may be generating some LLC of its own and interfering with the main center's NE quad. If so, that might explain why something that looks so buff on satellite has such weak winds. I expect the storm will have a huge "rapid intensification" once that secondary system is absorbed.

I think this system is stationnary, it does not move in any direction since the last advisory.

Which is why I am surprised that we have two Tropical Storm Philippe threads when it is still a TD. I thought I missed something being
gone all day.

I know this isn't the right place but since it is for Recon does any one know when the Recon for TD18 starts?
