Seriosuly, what's teh big deal? Isn't first grade a little old to believe in Santa Claus anyway?
I do hope you are kidding and trying to be sacrscastic. (Spelling a little bit off there) Anyway I am a mom of a first grader I would not want someone to tell her anything. That is my place and I choose not to ruin her fun.

For all of those who think it is alright
I have no problem with your choice to tell your children. I agree that Christmas is the birth of our Lord Jesus but I don't see anything wrong with the gift giving. Also there was a person named St. Nicholas who gave gifts to people.

God gave us the greatest gift of all and I think it is important that the kids know this but I also don't see what is wrong with them knowing the joy and fun of Santa Claus. To me it teaches them that it is better to give than to receive gifts. At least my children like to give gifts.
I am sorry that I got into the religious part of Christmas and I hope I didn't offend anyone by doing it. Yes, my kids still believe and I plan to let them believe but I also tell them and remind them that the true meaning of Christmas is the birth of our Lord Savior, Jesus Christ and he gave us the greatest gift.
