A little bit more optimistic as night falls.............the fire stands at 17,700 acres as of 2200 hrs, no further movement on the Northern flank, the NW flank is still crankin', containment stands at 10% with more possible by daybreak, winds are down, RH is on the rise, starting to feel a *little* more at ease with the situation. We were released from duty until further notice........like the fire jumps the N flank and to be honest, that's NOT in the cards......or so they say!

I'm sure you two can use a little rest...so take advantage of this precious time and get some!
The "Prayer Warriors" are on top of things, 24/7/365...know, then, that you are "covered". Give a treat and a "love" to the Muttley Cerw for me...Annabelle (she be a ho') said to tell you "Ar-OOO-OO-OOO-ah!"
And "Ridion", old friend...haven't seen much of you since the old "9-11" page. Welcome aboard!

Praise God!! Dennis while not out of the woods of danger yet, perhaps a corner towards coming out of the wilderness has occurred!
May each new day, each new hour bring yet more good news and futher the journey out of the hot zone and into rebuilding and reclaiming.
Still keeping you covered, take care, rest up, Tom and I send our thoughts and prayers westward.

SIZE: 21,500 Acres
CONTAINED:60%
CAUSE: Lightning
Personnel: 629
COST TO DATE: $3.8 million
FUELS: Fire is burning in a mixture of ponderosa pine, pinyon-juniper, chaparral and grass.
TODAY: Firing operations will continue on the northern perimeter of the fire. Decreased humidity and cloud cover will dry out the fine fuels today which will assist with firing operations. Firefighters will be watching for spot fires beyond the perimeter. There is a 30% chance of late afternoon rains and thunderstorms.
LAST NIGHT: Due to precipitation, firing operations will be implemented only during the day shifts. During the night shifts, precipitation was not allowing fuels to ignite due to high humidity and light rainfall.
EVACUATIONS: The evacuation order was lifted Friday at 8:00am and all residents have safely returned home.
COMMUNITIES THREATENED: If efforts to contain the fire from moving north of the planned containment line are unsuccessful, the fire will pose a threat to the communities of Hon Dah, McNary, and Pinetop-Lakeside.
PERSONNEL: 924 fire resources committed to the fire. Shifting of resources is currently taking place due to decreased active fire behavior on the Kinishba fire and because of other active wildland incidents nationwide. Also, nightshift personnel are being reassigned to the dayshift to allow for more resources to be present during firing operations.

Well folks, it's time to let this thread die a respectful death.......the fire for all intents and purposes, as of 0400 this morning, is OVER! "AMEN!" It's stands at 75% containment, the area received over .90" of rain last night.
In closing, I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your support, like I've said before, there are no words to describe the way I feel concerning the outpouring of Love and concern for Michelle and I.........Thank You!
Let's hope this doesn't become a yearly ritual, don't know if ol snowman can handle it again "LOL!"
Dennis
BTW.....life for us IS back to normal today, we were released at 2000 hrs last night, I couldn't post.......we had the first nocturnal boomer in over 2 years last night!
