Looking towards Tuesday night the RR is again showing some moisture around. Hopefully the NAM and other short range models are onto something.

Good night, everyone.

Abilene is reporting light snow.

guys temps are falling all around the dfw area, high 30's are current. Abilene is reporting snow at 36 degree's. precip shield has not hit us yet and we have a lull in precip it's going to be close but we could get some snow. Lets see what it dose. Im excited

Breckenridge is changing over in a heavy thunderstorm, right now at 143am.

change over line 60 miles from ftw 150am

latest nam has us(dfw) below 32 with freezing precip 9hr out through 18hr. however no precip hangs on after monday as drier air move's in

it's going to be very close for dfw, we could see an inch or two of snow or just rain mixed with sleet.

I dont know, unless the snow line makes no further push east within the next two hours.(which currently it is pushing east, almost to weatherford). Than we will see snow how much, i cant even begin to guess? precip needs to fill in south west of dfw. Im waiting on nws to issue a statement.

Somethingfunny is a little northwest of Ft. Worth and is reporting snow changeover. So snow-line is advancing east. He reports big flakes and dusting on the grass.

It is certainly possible for some areas in DFW area to change over to snow before the precipitation leaves.

Just checked out my window. I have SNOW falling here in Denton about 1 mile east of UNT! :froze:

Cars in the parking lot are lightly coated as is the grass.

My time stamp says 6am, it's only 5am. How do I change that?

A car just drove by and I can see faint tire tread lines in the road. So there seems to be a lite small amount of slush on the streets. Nothing to write home about but still interesting.

Still very lite flurries. Gosh, on Fox 4 I am right on the line or rain/snow. Well time to get ready for work, might need the extra few minutes this morning. For what it's worth I stepped outside just now and it cuts right through you. To think a few months ago it was having trouble getting down below 80-85 at night and now it's snowing!!!

Just woke up real quick to see what was happening...and it's just about what most of us expected. Just cold rain here, probably going to stay that one since it's coming to an end soon.

Somewhere around Mineral Wells probably picked up an inch or two, though. They are the winners.

Back to bed now.

Just north of me in Sanger they got quite a bit as well. Just saw a picture on the news.

Change to snow has occurred in Denison. Light snow falling, 1/4 inch film on cars already.

Looks like the short range models did a pretty good job last night. The precip is starting to shutoff with the shortwave exiting. Some pretty pictures coming out of Wise county especially in Decatur. Parts of SW Wise county have seen 2+ inches this morning.

I think it's time to look at to the NW and see the light snow progress around Amarillo and if any can consolidate as the final piece moves through tomorrow.

from Shreveport NWS...

BACKING OFF ON WINTER PCPN ON TAIL END OF THIS EVENT...AS
NAM MODEL APPEARING TO HAVE A SLIGHT SLEET MIX LATE MONDAY NIGHT
AND EARLY TUESDAY NORTH OF INTERSTATE 30...AND GFS MODEL EVEN WARMER...
INDICATING NO WINTER PCPN WITH THIS EVENT. WILL STILL LEAVE A LOW
CHANCE SLEET MIX UP NORTH FOR NOW.
THIS FRONT WILL MOVE OFFSHORE BY TUESDAY...WITH RAIN TAPERING OFF
FROM THE NW. HOWEVER...A PERIOD OF LOW CLOUDS TRAPPED IN SHALLOW
COLD AIR INVERSION WILL CONTINUE FOR AT LEAST SEVERAL HOURS
FOLLOWING THE END OF THE PCPN. COLDER AND DRY AIRMASS EVENTUALLY
FIND ITS WAY HERE LATER IN THE WEEK...WITH OVERNIGHT LOWS POSSIBLY
FALLING INTO 20S ACROSS MUCH OF AREA. WAVE ALONG LEFTOVER FRONTAL
BOUNDARY NEAR COAST FRIDAY SO WILL LEAVE IN SLIGHT CHANCE OF RAIN
SOUTH AND EAST CWA./VII/.

Congrats to the folks west of here(Grand Prairie) who got winter weather. Hey, at least we got to see it on tv. Sure looks nice. Decent totals also. Chances are the DFW area will see some this winter. I sure hope so.

Looks like there is a little more moisture around Amarillo than expected.

Since the short range models did such a good job last night, I'd expect the same tonight. They were showing some flurries/very light snow for us. I haven't checked them this morning, though.

EDIT: Looks like the RR model is still showing some getting here. RUC shows it getting pretty darn close. Thinking we'll see some flurries at least....maybe...hopefully.
