The NOAA flight is more of a sampling of the atmosphere, and not so much of the storm?

Well it is in the area but it is a NOAA plane so the information is slow to come than from the AF folks.It has been almost an hour since the last data came in.I hope there is nothing wrong with them.

I lost the link, but if I read the flight plan correctly they will not be going into the eye on this flight.

Is this a flight that was sent out just to get the synoptics around the storm to feed into the models to try and help them predict the future path?

ERC seems to be over now...pressure is up some but winds are def higher than previous passes...probable sign of some strenthening that might take place soon

I agree, I think in the next few hours, clouds will clear from the center and the pressure will drop again.
