I think the stuff in the Northern areas is mostly virga. Despite the radar returns, nothing making it to the ground in Carrollton. I did see a few flakes driving to work though.

Re: Texas Winter 2014-2015
12z RGEM wants to include austin on some light snow action tomorrow with a high around 33.
SREF continues to trend away from any snow in austin, also with highs around 40 now.

Pretty decent snow shower down here at the moment. Small flakes, but there are a lot of them flying around out there.

Which one of those would you tend to believe?

The question is not which one would you tend to believe. It is what does the SREF say about precip chances? I say this because the reason it backed off the snow is because of a high near 40. If it is showing a decent amount of precip though, it is conceivable that it could be wrong about the temps, which means a higher chance of snow.

The one that shows freezing drizzle!

Both have faltered at different times, you have to remember the SREF is a blend and average of different solutions as it is an ensembles not a definite solution.

Re: Texas Winter 2014-2015
It depends on certain dynamics like the potency of the arctic front. (sref is becoming inconsistent, first showing highs around 32-34 now 40.)
It also depends on whether or not we can overcome the somewhat dry airmass and saturate in time for any accumulations, I haven't seen enough short term guidance in agreement just yet.

Interesting...
@NWSLittleRock: With yesterday's snow at Little Rock (1.6 in.), 47.7 in. has fallen since 1/1/2010...more than the previous 2 decades combined (45.6). #arwx

Yep, latest RGEM much more aggressive with snowfall amounts tomorrow...now up to 3-5 inch amounts (even 6-7 from Eastland to Graham) across a big area of North Texas. Winter Weather Advisories for a long period of time are possible starting tomorrow through Saturday morning

Euro had this solution earlier in the week then lost it. Ratio's will be high if it pans out, get more stuff out of little liquid and is more fluffy than wet snow.

You North Texas guys said yesterday that the RGEM did real well with the early week event, correct? Hope it continues the hot hand.

I will vote RGEM as it gives me some snow accumulation tomorrow. It has tended to be good even when it is an outlier with winter storms this season.
