Here is another video. I didn't think about putting up the retractable awning before the storm. Now I'm paying for it. Twice I've had to go out and take a broom to push off the snow. It's frozen solid so I can't retract it. Gonna have to go out again to sweep it off again. I've never seen snow like this before. :double:

We're finally getting snow. I just hope it stays snow now.

Cipher we must be on the same grid formation cause the outage map is huge for this grid, I figured they would break it up into quadrants but damn the boundary for this grid is huge.

Well, there went the power. Hoping it's just the rolling setup.

Pretty wild right now, sleet coming down like crazy, thunder and lightning. Hoping the snow transition line is coming soon.

We lost power about an hour ago. This is unexpected since we have underground utilities. Off to check the kitchen sink

Yes, they're doing the rolling blackouts. Currently without power in Burleson.

Same here in McKinney. I'm in a new house and a toilet supply line is frozen. Running PEX through the attic seems like a good idea until the attic is below freezing

Had a 30min rolling blackout just not. Temp dropped fast in the house, currently warming back up now.

Buckle up everyone.

Rolled blackout 2x in an hour in Grapevine-

I don't know if I can handle this for the next 2 days... but...good reason for me to call in to work on Tuesday. (I'm "essential"...but 90 percent of my job can be done remotely). I have a feeling the roads aren't going to be fun Tues..then snow all day Wednesday..they won't see me til Friday if they're lucky.

Power back on. The funniest part of these blackouts is that when the power is off for 45 minutes and they turn it back on it's going to take 45 minutes to heat the house back up. Using more power for a longer duration. But as they say, it is what it is.

If it does not come back on in 15min we have have just lost power.

I will say the water treatment plant down the way has lights om still. Not sure what that means but I suspect they have priority power.

And we are back on

Off for 45 minutes, came back on for maybe 10 and back off again. That's not rolling outages, that's BS outages. :cheesy:

Time to crash. I did one last check and wow, it's snow, sleet, and some more freezing rain again, driving bullets into the sleet/snow pile. I can't believe it. Could have had 6"+ easily but instead I got ice balls.

I have about 1" of sleet, just had some heavy sleet roll through, bursting dents into the sleet already there like jason said lol. I took a little stroll around back of my house, there is a shallow pond that is about half frozen. Unreal. 18F here.

So far it seems to be 30 on 30 offish.

If this is what they are doing should be around 4:20is for my next one.

Also I've unplugged TV's and all appliances in the house. Last thing I want is a power surge to blow my electronics with this on off stuff.

Fridge, internet and that's it.

From what we've talked about on this board leading up to this moment I've made all the preparations I could.

Folks at work who scoffed at it, well what do you think of what I said now?
