Do you really think anyone is going to listen to them? I mean what credibility have they showed over this event.

The general public who are less educated. They get much of their info from the the TV stations and weather radios.

I just never realized how heavily they depended on day to day model runs.

I was gonna ask that, but I had to go and knock the snow off with a broom. It's working now.

I wouldnt say extremely heavy, but, boderline heavy, definatly moderate snow falling again, accumulating nicely, temp, 32.5, accumulating WAY better on streets this time... Can't stress how bad now-till midnight is gonna be... Could see 3-5 more inches of drier snow.

I saved this email from a while back that I sent my co-workers with Bastardi's forecast. I would say he was dead on with the long range before winter started.

The South

The track this year right along the Eastern Seaboard would put the major cities on the cold, wintry side of the storms. Areas form Atlanta to Charlotte could have several snowstorms this year, which is something that this region has not seen in a while.

The Interstate 20 corridor from Dallas to Atlanta will be a strike zone for ice and snow, given the storm track and proximity to cold air. By the end of the winter, people from Dallas to the Carolinas could say "Wow, we had snow this year!" said Bastardi.

It looks like this band is setting up from the Northern Tarrant and Dallas county borders down to Hillsboro. It seems to be falling apart as you go further north. This band will slowly sag south and east over the next hour, putting an end to the last of many snow bands throughout the day.

Snow now heavy at this time. I live on a peaceful block of 19 houses... The street is completely COVERED!(1-2 inches glazed, and where cars havent tracked a good 3" possibly 4) Its not even midnight yet and with snow falling at a good clip and more coming for the next 7-9 hours, Im definatly concerened. A few blocks down, on the more traveled roads and thouroughfares its EXTREMELY SLUSHY, and visibilites are very poor.

According to the models, the next 2 hours should be the heaviest we should get for the rest of the event.

Pete Delkus says 5 more hours of steady snow, and then 6 hours after that of light snow.

I'll have to measure again when I go out to build my snowman. I'm guessing it's about at 9 inches too. I think we're pretty close.
