Is it me or is that weak little LLC heading SW?

It does look to me like it's being slightly dragged back closer to the MLC.

Dry air really did a number on it. This won’t survive past the Islands.

Too early to say for certain. Friction with the islands could help the northern center tighten up and drag the whole storm north of DR like multiple models have forecast.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

That thing fell apart before it even got to Hispaniola, no comparison. 8-)

Can't see much shear with PTC 6 so I would guess that the EPAC activity is mostly irrelevant for it right now. Dry air which is the main issue right now has little to do with that basin

This post was probably an opinion of mine, and in no way is official. Please refer to http://www.hurricanes.gov for official tropical analysis and advisories.

Oh I know, it was sort of a rhetorical question. Plus that was in 2015, with a super nino with record wind shear in this part of the basin. Erika was basically dead before it got there.

Half expecting some sort of overnight voodoo and the center reforms NE of Hispaniola. Things tend to get weird in this setup approaching Hispaniola (Based on past systems that were this weak, isaias comes to mind last year) That and models that get it going don't do much with it until Friday.

Still not seeing any west winds in the most recent recon pass so it looks like it's not quite there yet. Maybe this new burst of convection will help it get there.
