ATL: Tropical Depression Dolly

Re: ATL: H Dolly in Western Gulf of Mexico
So was wondering what he Trough to the North of us is doing? Is it coming down fast enough to draw Dolly up like some of us were thinking? Since it looks like Dolly has decided to stop and just spin in one spot for a while.

Speaking of wierd landfall happenings.. has anyone seen this?

Now while every instinct in me screams no way! I've seen such skirting of land a few times by Jamaica and Cuba. So I just can't say it's ..to use a recently debated quote... "out of the realm of possibility".
Edit: whoops.. run the simulated radar loop

I just don't buy the skirting up the coast theory some are still hanging on to.

The one thing I like about that loop is that it dumps alot of rain in my area. If she were to skirt the coast like that, stronger than cat-2 status would be very possible. Then again, that is highly unlikely at this point.

If it wraps those reds around that eye and the eye starts clearing out. Then things could become very interesting. It could strengthen again later tonight and become a cat2 by 11am or so.

Re: ATL: H Dolly in Western Gulf of Mexico
Yea, you're right anything is possible (Astros went to the World Series). But Dolly won't be skirting north up the coast past CC into Freeport or whatever. If she does, then...Well, better not. Anything is possible!
EDIT: Any further meaning eye landfall.

Re: ATL: H Dolly in Western Gulf of Mexico
So some of you think it might make it up to Corpus Christi, that is a big difference than what a lot of you were saying this morning. Well she could do like Humberto (I think it was him last year that decided to intensify quickly and stay off shore until Sabine Pass.) or Rita and skirt the Coast until she has no wheres to go but into land. i.e. Galveston Bay, Sabine Bass.

On the left hand side.. you'll see where it say simulated radar. The boxes under there.
BTW.. this is very experimental... don't take it to heart. I only brought it up to perk up the late night discussion a bit as it tends to get quiet and the wierd landfall talk had come up.
