Interesting that 18Z BAM-M has now joined the rest of the group and is heading for the west coast of FL, although much slower (72-96 hrs). I don't put much stock in the BAMs, but the 12Z version was heading toward TX.

That's ok; it happens. :)

No problem! Btw, here's another loop; this time, AVN.

It does sort of look like that, yes. Perhaps it will start to drift E then a NE track...maybe?

Thanks wxman57 for your help. Let us know if the low level center starts to move.

Robert 8-)

That's a small eddy rotating around the SE side of the center. The small eddy IS moving to the NE now.

Actually, it works with either the .html or .gif at the end. But it doesn't take you to a loop, it takes you to a web page where you have to click a link to download the file.

Couple things, the LLC is still moving NNW albeit very slowly now, more of a drift. The dry air has wrapped into the storm and is now between the LLC and the moisture feed from the Carb. If Alberto stays put he's in trouble, if he begins to move northward and especially NE more faster he puts himself closer to the moisture and more distance away from the dry ULL in the SW Gulf.

Looks like moisture is increasing over Alberto in the UL's from the south in this loop. You can see the gray area which is moisture coming northward near the center and at the same time some convection fires south of the center as the moisture arrives, still the shear is evident with this arriving moisture.

Speed up the animation for a better look.

You know what I have noticed, If you look at the far northern extent of its clouds and rain, it has been creeping northwestward and not be sheared off to the northeast.

I was very surprised to hear a detailed explanation of what's happening with Alberto on MSNBC. Usually the cable news channels are worthless for weather analysis.

The Met explained that the convection continues to head away from the center and that he expects a downgrade and major change in the forecast come 5PM or 11PM.

He went into details as to why he feels this way. If you want to hear it all, tune to MSNBC as he's been reporting frequently.

Anyway, he said to stay tuned to see whether the center will just dissipate, or whether it'll buzz around out there for a few days, redevelop and head toward the north. His basic view though, was that the current NHC forecast will not happen.

CNN and Fox News haven't really given much worth watching. Fox reported at 3:00 that it's been downgraded to a Depression with top winds of 34 MPH.

If you look at the loop it seems that Alberto is reforming a new center near the convection.
