Yeah, NDG you better tell her to bring a light sweater or jacket at least. It has actually dropped to 51 degrees here at my locale currently with rain continuing. It definitely looks like we will remain in the 50s throughout the day.

Jealous. The days of 50s seem long gone down here.
It wouldn't be that nuts for a front to make it through in late April and early May.....but it doesn't seem like it's gonna happen. Hello summer.

It seems every year we get a day like this in the month of April. It is not unusual to see cold fronts slide through this area and cool us down temporarily. However, this current front will stall out and a Low Pressure wave/trough will develop on the frontal boundary just off the East Coast of the peninsula tomorrow. Another shortwave will move out of the GOM within the next 24 hours to enhance our rain chances here. Also, it looks as if we will have a late April nor'easter taking shape tomorrow into Monday here. It will get windy here tomorrow as inland winds are expected to be between 20-30 mph with some higher gusts possible, with possible gale-force winds off shore beginning tomorrow.

It rained...all of .12" overnight. Cloudy, overcast, upper 60's F all day. Weird after 90F yesterday. Missed most of the rains yet again. Are we seeing a pattern? Send some much needed rain my way.

Nice convergence coming in from the Atlantic going on this afternoon with developing showers across east central FL well ahead of the disturbance that is to track across the FL from the GOM for tonight.
12z GFS shows .5-1.0" of rain to fall through tomorrow morning across central FL, well needed rain.

Close to 1" of rain at my house this afternoon with many spots in the Orlando area over 2" with more to come over the next 12-18 hrs.
What a wet April is turning to be in east central FL.

Yes, the convergence happened over my house! Good thunderstorm hit around 5pm with some heavier rains, then lighter rains...and the radar shows more coming although not as heavy. Total near an inch, most rainfall in one episode in eons. My yard is happy! :P

Talk about convergence. I just picked up 2.30 inches of rainfall in just over one hour. We are experiencing a nor'easter here in the Jax area and a squall line with very heavy rain and winds just came through my locale. Also, received a wind gust of 42 mph as the squall line came through. It was a real soaker for sure! Tight northeast wind pressure gradient in the area with Strong High wedging down the Lee of the Appalachians and a Low Pressure area off the coast of Titusville.

The nor'easter will continue all day long here as winds will continue 20-30 mph with some higher gusts inland and over 35 mph + off shore of Jax Beach. The rain should end by mid afternoon here as the Low Pressure area currently off the coast of Cape Canaveral begins to lift northeast away from the east coast of the peninsula.

Pretty weather since Sunday's storms here. Nice party sunny skies, breeze, 80'sF afternoons and this morning is a very comfortable 60.9F. This is how it should be for April! :sun:

The Florida spring pattern is firmly entrenched. Fronts stay well north or die as they approach. High pressure dominates with sunny skies, light seabreezes in the PM. Highs well into the 80'sf with moderate humidity. Just a beautiful time of year! :sun:

As discussed on another thread, EURO showing a possible hybrid/subtropical system just off the Florida East Coast within a week from now. This will be very interesting to monitor with future model runs.

Crazy GFS is showing lows in the upper 30s for lows next Sunday morning across northern FL and 40s all the way down to Lake Okeechobee.
We might see a cool down but I doubt anything that cold with teleconnections not really matching to those type of temps.

It will be interesting to watch. We are expecting 40s here in SE TX on Friday. That usually translates E from here this time of year. If that possible low in the NE GOM comes to fruition and crosses the peninsula I wouldn't be surprised by some much colder than usual temps in your area.

I find it hard to believe, with GOM temps near 80F that anything will get in and give us that kind of cold. The record low for today is 49F. That is for Tampa Bay. Although interesting to see what develops, May is almost here and heat is our issue form here on out. :ggreen:

:uarrow: it was just the GFS, notice that I said the "crazy" GFS. Today's run of it has trended towards the Euro which keeps us warm next weekend.

Yeah, as of now for next weekend, the latest GFS and EURO runs have the cut-off, cold core upper Low to be over the mid-section of the nation. Also, a rather robust upper ridge along the eastern U.S. seaboard is being depicted by the models for next weekend. The cut-off upper low would be well removed to thenorth and west to bring us chilly weather. Hope this stays that way.

Well, the front has stalled over FL leaving muggy conditions, somewhat cloudy wx but little rain here on the WCoast. Inland storms fired up today with the heat. Will my area get any rainfall? Hmmm

10:30 tonight with showers still popping across metro Orlando.
Feels like summer outside. So far close to 1.5" of rain has fallen at my house. In 8 years that I have lived in Orlando this is the most rain I have seen during the Spring and the greenest the vegetation has been.
