Even today on the evening news they said it would be getting back over the water around 1p.m. tomorrow. She's 12 hours early!

All I know is that it will have approx 72 hours over warm water, give or take a few hours, and that's a huge amount of time for major strengthening. Think about how quickly Katrina intensified just a few hours prior to landfall today where conditions were less than ideal. What's it going to do once it gets in the gulf where conditions are much better? :(

are you sure that Katrina isn't playing tricks on your eyes?

I think what you might be seeing is an ERC?... It looks like an inner eyewall may be forming... I'm just guessing here, though... you can see it a little better here..

No eye trickery and no ERC. She's not strong enough for an ERC. The whole system is moving SW. For those saying she's not, you're not looking.
