Good news for my Dad who lives in the KEYS, not sitting at a desk in Atlanta.

I'm not sure where this idea that Katrina intensified over the FL Everglades came from. It in fact weakened to a tropical storm. What did happen is that its inner core remained well defined. However, the surface winds decreased quite a bit. It certainly did not intensify.

Actually I think that weeble's don't fall down. They lean to one side, then to the next, kind of like this Storm. LOL.

No, he still has time, about 2-3 hours to strengthen.

This is the biggest non-event I've ever gone through here in South Fl. I was expecting a decent TS with winds of 60 mph. I dunno where the heck the supposed 45 mph winds are located. The center is just offshore and the winds outside are barely 15 mph! The strongest I've experienced were about an hour ago, when they gusted to about 25 mph. I'm just worried people will become complacent about future systems when you have a major dud like Ernesto.

I said about. Meaning there is a little time, but not much.

And I'm pretty happy about that.

I love the quote... "It's about over for him.."

Maybe for Floridians, but for us in the Carolina's, this could still be interesting.

Actually someone back in the posts said they thought Katrina strengthened over the Glades.

At 8 PM the NHC might upgrade it to 50 mph, if they are basing it on SAT presentation.
