P-Surge and the inundation graphics are not run for special advisories. However, the warning graphic is controlled by forecasters. The warning has been extended southward due to the expanded windfield which will show up in the next run of the inundation graphic.

I was surprised they posted Tropical storm warnings south of Edgemont key.
Pinellas county has had some spotty power outages from the squalls bringing down dead wood but otherwise really no wind issues.

If there is a storm surge problem in Tampa bay it should be happening now close to high tide at 2:41 PM

Well considering they just issued the Warning and the strongest winds have been to the south and east of the storm I would say they would continue to pick up at least a little.

How come recon didn't go far in the southwest quadrant and turned sharply to the east?

There tends to be a strong bias toward syncing up coastal warnings with marine legs so taking the warning south to Englewood encompassed the central marine leg of the Ruskin CWA. you'll notice that Englewood is a frequently used breakpoint. that breakpoint was also used in Colin.

It is barely under hurricane strength. A 70 MPH TS should normally look more like a cat 1 than a typical TS.
